dumbsparce Posted October 31 Posted October 31 (edited) I'm sorry but what exactly is this wall and how does it serve a different purpose than the barbed wires at the USA-Mexico border? Why is it controversial? I mean obviously there should just be checkpoints at the border but it's not like there's nothing physically separating the 2 countries right now. How did it come to the point of the area around the border looking like a post-apocalyptic town and why has it never been fixed? Edited October 31 by dumbsparce
RunUpDoneUp Posted October 31 Posted October 31 What's that saying, "scratch a liberal and a fascist bleeds"? Yeah. No one is surprised by the defense and coalescing of "bOrDeR!" apologia. Democratic voters' main problem with trump is that he's rude, a man and white really. They don't have much ideological or moral objections beyond his base disgustingness. They went from "immigrants are hardworking contributing members of our country!"(correct) to "build that wall correctly! Hehe" at a drop of a dime. Why? Because their values are superficial and without conservatives, they'll be the obvious rightwingers. They don't see the flaw in a system that literally makes becoming a citizen hard as hell as the issue, the system benefits them and that's all that matters. They are the system and they love the system. Trump is suddenly fascist now when they need to beat him but not when the actual left was ringing the alarms.

Part of winning an election is listening to the voters whose views you represent. You also conveniently ignored the rest of my comment that points out that those views for many voters are rooted in legitimate and well documented problems. Once again, I suggest listening to The Daily episode as it seems you need more context. Well too bad this failed

In fact, voters overwhelmingly saw her as more extreme than Trump. Dems dug a hole that will take longer than 3 months to get out of. The entire electorate moved right, The Green Party didn't win enough votes to impact the election whatsoever, and turnout will be nearly as high as an election considered a major statistical outlier. Every piece of data points to the fact that Dems were perceived as too left and too extreme. Harris tried to walk back four years of messaging that voters hated and it was too late. So what now?
