The Taliban have banned Afghan women from allowing their voices to be heard by other women, adding yet another restriction to their string of radical measures against women.

A woman's voice is considered awrah, meaning that which must be covered, and shouldn't be heard in public, even by other women, Hanafi said.

She says the Taliban now forbid female health workers from meeting with male companions of patients, making health services even more difficult.

"They don't even allow us to speak at checkpoints when we go to work. And in the clinics, we're told not to discuss medical matters with male relatives," she said.

The group has further tightened social restrictions on Afghan women: beauty salons have been shut down, women are prohibited from leaving home without a male guardian, their entire bodies and faces must be covered, and female news anchors are required to wear masks on TV.

"Women can be punished for singing or speaking outside their homes, while Muslim women are instructed to cover themselves in front of "non-believing" women. Adult women and men who are not related are forbidden from looking at each other's bodies and faces," reads the report.

You would think reading this thread that the Taliban represent all of Islam.

All organized religion is bad but that doesn't mean every single person who believes is bad. Stop trying to justify prejudices that have been programmed into you morons. :rip:

Fundamentalist groups of any abrahamic religion would come up with horrifying and oppressive policies if allowed to seize power. The unchecked and fundamentalist parts are the key words here, not the specific flavor of crazy/superstitious or region of the world.

Mocking all Muslims does not honor or aid the victims of the Taliban and does not meaningfully convey the underlying issue here which is that religions are fundamentally dangerous. It's thinly veiled xenophobia.

This is vile and awful. However Israeli supporters shouldn't be allowed to comment on this thread considering Israel carpet bombs majority-female innocent civilian cohorts, which is objectively worse.

Are they purposely trying to push the limits of what they can get away with?  Are they not the strictest Muslim country on Earth at this point?  And for what?  Is it helping their economy?  Like I don't understand the desire for these leaders to make their already ruined country worse.

China is more than happy to prop them up economically, and Gen Z social media users think the Taliban are misunderstood peace activists since the Taliban published pictures with 10 female Chinese and white European travel influencers, so they won't have any incentive to change this sadly. This is just horrendous, it's not a human life to live

While what you say is entirely true, it's always weird not seeing this energy for the Christian faith, when there's many branches that accept queerness and support legalization of abortion

How's that going to work even? Like they can't talk? :deadbanana2:

Literally nobody thinks this. Do yall ever get tired of this "Gen Z!!! Leftists!!! Online activists!!!! love Taliban" narrative and other braindead talking points equating resistance movements to actual terror organizations.

Reading this post, one would think Bosque cares deeply about peace and the human life. :dancehall: Yet....

@Bosque Weird how you ignore every thread that shows the wrongdoings of Israel and the IDF. Thoughts on the video of the soldiers raping a Palestinian in custody? Or the fact that people rioted to release said soldiers? Or the fact majority of Israelis think it's okay for their soldiers to rape Palestinians in custody? Thoughts on videos of Israel deliberately targeting aid workers and journalists? Thoughts on videos of Israel dropping bombs on two people walking casually to get back home? Thoughts on Israel offering boat tours to their citizens to show the destruction of Gaza? Thoughts on the multiple times Israel declined a ceasefire deal if it was permanent? Thoughts on the fact Israel blackmails LGBT Palestinians to be their spy or else they will expose them to their families? Thoughts on "de-escalation through the escalation" leading to the deadliest single day in Lebanon since 2006? Thoughts on the "Hamas calendar" that was actually just the days of the week? Thoughts on every human rights organization saying Israel is deliberately blocking aid?

You're a horrible person, but I'm sure you know that.
