Those are huge numbers. Let me listen his alberm to see if I like it

I quite enjoyed the album but I really had no idea he was that big. The last song running into the first song is such a serve, I love when it happens in albums, same with Ren and Cowboy.

By the way who is the girl on Balloon?

OT : very good numbers.

This is a massive debut and deserved. He's one of the most consistent artists when it comes to quality. Flower Boy, Igor, CMIYGL, Chromakopia is one of the greatest 4 album runs of all time.

He could've done major damage to the upper part of the hot100 with a full week, and send so much trash to recurrency :noparty:

He still will. Noid was released on Monday too, did weaker numbers and still debuted at #43 on Hot 100

According to the early predictions A Bar Song is predicted to have 238 points, so he needs at least 33 or 34 million streams overall to reach #1 (asuming he has 0 airplay and 0 sales)

I guess he already scored more than 10M on Spotify & AM yesterday. 33M is totally not out of reach if his dumb ass didn't drop the album on a Monday lol

Doechii, she's signed to TDE (Kendricks former label and SZAs current)/Capitol. She dropped a dope mixtape this year.

Lil Uzi Vert is going to squash chances of a second week I think.

with a full week he would have debuted at #1 on the Hot 100  :deadbanana2:

Maybe he regrets not doing a Friday release now  :skull:

He definitely don't lol he doesn't put that much stock into numbers. He released at the beginning of the week for other reasons.

Since when did he get mainstream, his last album wasn't that big. Is it due to Coachella?!

Tyler been mainstream since at least Igor.

I've thought this for a while but Tyler really took the mantle when Kanye started declining after Pablo in 2016. Flower Boy in 2017 elevated him from a niche rapper dismissed as an edgy provocateur into a mainstream force, and that only furthered with Igor. Those two albums in particular are outstreaming the majority of 2010s albums long-term. Slow and steady wins.

It's extremely refreshing that this album had no Friday release, no big announcement, no marketing strategy, no playlisting, no chart manipulation tactics, and yet it had not problem smashing out of the gate :clap3:

On the bright side: At least Tyler is going to knock out Beautiful Things from the Top 10, and DWaS still has a chance at #1.

That's insane lol. Congrats to him!

I've been thinking this for years too lol and low-key, I think Tyler is a more skilled, well rounded artist than Kanye and he's only 33 to Kanye's 47. When Ye was 33, he was in his MBDTF era. Not long after that, Kanye started losing the plot because he was caring more about celebrity and having wild soundbites rather than truly growing as a person and artist and having the music reflect that.
