ChooseyLover Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Didn't she lipsync every song on the Dignity Tour? Kinda sad if lipsyncing was imposed on her and she felt she wasn't good enough and that's why she kept doing it. 1
Gojira Posted October 29 Posted October 29 She was one of the first that they realized the familiarity from a Disney show could propel someone to success in the music business whether or not they possess any musical talent or ability. 2 1

The gays still root for Hilarys music, and it's always going viral. 1

Mickey mouse club says hi. But yes, Hilary/Lindsay were probably good examples of the bare min. of talent being transformed to success in the pop world. 1 1

The late 90s/early 00s is where bubblegum pop/rock music was the novelty. 1 1

Ashlee Simpson was an interesting example since (aside from nepotism) her reality show was trying to market her as A Musical Artist after she'd already tried to be An Actress on 7th Heaven, but many didn't really believe it and then after everyone saw proof that her mic was off on SNL any possible credibility she had disappeared. interestingly, even though Lohan hosted SNL 4 times she never bothered to sing, while hilary afaik never did the show. 1

She handled it like a pro and they had to turn her mic on at the end so she could deliver the final line live 1 1

DuffStan Posted November 9 Posted November 9 I know Hil really wanted to distance herself from Lizzie and Disney but I wonder what she thinks today of her mom walking out of the ABC and NBC 6-figure-deals to shoot A Cinderella Story, The Perfect Man and Material Girls instead for 2M each. I had no idea some of these movies were in development as early as 2003, crazy.
