Lots of lively discussion going on in the Disease spotify debut thread, so I thought it would be fun/useful/provoke some entertaining stan wars to have a thread comparing the stats for lead singles by various female artists in the past few years. Some notes

  • Only going back to 2022 for now bc I''ll be here all day otherwise, might go back and add 2020/2021 too if i CBA.
  • This only includes songs that debuted upon release.
  • For songs that were released midweek (i.e. both Beyonce singles for example) I've went and added up the full 7 day numbers instead of using the weekly chart numbers that will only include a partial week. These have #MW in the rank bc obviously the actual weekly rank isn't as obvious.
  • This isn't meant to be comprehensive by any means, I've included most of the MPGs plus other female artists who managed to chart their singles. LMK if you think there's anyone who should be added in or any errors, let me know. I'll pdate this with new releases as they come.

Fortnight debuting with 25M streams, only for it to drop below 1.5M daily streams months later. Hell, Die With A Smile outstreamed it and Fortnight had a 4 month head start :deadbanana2:

Yeah Fortnight is just not a smash. Entirely fan-driven, which isn't a bad thing cause that's a testament to the chokehold Taylor has on swifties, but it just wasn't able to capture the GeePee

OT: I don't know why we're restricting the list to lead singles only. If most MPGs have album tracks outdebut certain lead singles that's quite telling

bc then I'd have to either a) only include songs based on some arbitrary criteria or b) include everything and I'll be at this for days :jonny:
