ericcartman Posted October 27 Posted October 27 (edited) There have been many disagreements among stans on whether Gaga and Taylor are truly peers. Taylor had a big comeback era with folklore after her floppings with The Me! etc., while Gaga has had some hits throughout the years. However! Stans argue that those hits are not solo and don't count toward the metric. But now Gaga has returned with her signature sound in the solo single Disease and it's predicted to be a hit for the GP. Would it make Gaga equal to taylor? Edited October 27 by ericcartman 10
Timeless Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Gaga will be equal once her next tour gross over $2B in total revenue 2 9

PerfectCure Posted October 27 Posted October 27 The copy-paste did not work, title is mentioning Taylor Swift but the OP text talks about Beyoncé. Better luck next time! 7

Doctor Dick Posted October 27 Posted October 27 They are and will forever be peers. Taylor, Gaga, Beyoncé, Adele and Katy are all peers. Katy might be irrelevant, struggling to swim in music industry's ocean, working with an alleged rapist and flopping with her last three studio albums while having zero hits (both collaborative and solo) in a decade and having a hard time hitting a note live, doing arena shows in Australia instead of what her peers are doing which is stadiums and generally being a nostalgia act whose most active posters on here have to jump ship to newer relevant acts like Chappell Roan and her fandom has shrunk drastically with no comeback in sight but they are all five still peers alongside Rihanna of course. 1 6 1 6

Be so ******* for real, I BEG. Liddos truly have found their place in the world in their arguments with the KitKats, truly a match made in heaven. The way your entire post is dragging miss KT because everyone else is an echelon or two ahead of GaGa and you know you wouldn't be taken seriously Taylor and GaGa are peers in a traditional sense because they broke through around the same time, but their success cannot be compared. Beyoncé was putting out DC albums before GaGa left elementary school, they are not peers. Adele releases ~20 songs per decade, she's not participating in the competition. Rihanna is Rihtired and is also not competing. Stick to lashing 143 and the Lesions Tour, miss Doctor Dick, it's funny 9

Stick to lashing 143 and the Lesions Tour, miss Doctor Dick, it's funny Taylor and Gaga (NOT me putting Beyoncé in it, you're right she debuted before and is more Britney's peer) along with Rihanna and Adele are peers. Gaga was above Taylor from 2009-11 and Adele was above everyone from 2011-16 and yet they are still peers. This other argument you're providing is only for stan twitter. In the music industry they are all peers.

Other than the bitter rivalries and maybe a nostalgic "we came up together" comment in an interview, I SERIOUSLY doubt anyone playing at this level gives a **** or spares a thought. Taylor's true peers are, at any given time, the most successful girls on the block, and GaGa's peers are… I guess the other peaked a decade ago but still lingering girls (such as Katy Perry ). That's a true GaGa peer, down to the fact that we're still litigating Roar v. Applause over a decade later and there's still not a clear winner 1 1

She stood ten toes down on working with him when people were calling her out back in 2013. When it was time for the ASIB Oscar campaign and the Surviving R. Kelly doc came out (very convenient timing), that's when she finally felt the need to apologize and remove the song off the album. 5

Because when Gaga collaborated with R.Kelly it was well known that he was a rapist, but Gaga defended him and said that people said certain things about him and her that were not true. Then she did these aberrant, suggestive and even mocking performances with him and recorded a video (part of which was leaked) where R. Kelly was abusing a patient on a stretcher. Gaga didn't apologise until SIX years later when the scandal blew up in her face.
LosingHimWasBlue Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Taylor and Gaga are peers but they are not on the same level in music industry. Taylor is A+++++ List musician meanwhile Gaga is B + List Musician 1

Why has she not wiped out Prism and Teenage dream albums from existence yet? What's stopping her?
