Sabrina's "Please Please Please" drops out of UK chart at #5 because of ACR

They have a rule where only 3 songs from an album can chart:

Taste spent a 9th week at #1, Espresso and Please Please Please were all top 5

Because Please Please Please and the ACR rule - it's invalid to chart anymore unless Bad Chem drops below it

She's smashing so hard with 4 hits at once :hoetenks:

Yeah they need to completely rid the UK charts of all that ACR mess, it makes no logical sense for only 3 singles being able to chart. Sure make the rule affect album bombs because those are quite ridiculous, but not singles :psyduck:

Apparently Taste will get ACRed next week too. She's too dominant so they have to force her out. This is female erasure.

This rule is perfect for album bombs but not when it's singles. Sabrina has four singles smashing and that should be reflected in the chart.

Then artists can just call all their album tracks singles and get around the rule

The rule is designed to stop 1 week album bombs ruining the chart a la Ed Sheeran

But couldn't they incorporate a rule where only the song officially sent to radio can chart? So the label can't say all songs are singles.

The UK charts rules are so stupid. They like to penalize actuals hits. ACR is so ******* dumb.
They also made soundtrack albums ineligible to chart on the main albums chart after The Greatest Showman album smashed and stayed at #1 for months. How does that make any sense?

I understand why they created it, but maybe they should revise it

They should just incorporate the same rule the german charts are using: All singles released before the album drops are allowed to chart and during album release week the label can chose one additional track from the album (usual new single dropping with the album) to chart. All other album tracks are blocked from charting for the first three weeks and then can enter the chart afterwards if they still get enough streams.

This seems to work really well and album bombs usually only last for around two weeks max anyway.

thats better but i still dont want album tracks clogging up the lower parts of the chart, its a singles chart, not an album track chart
