Jack! Posted October 26 Posted October 26 K-pop becoming so westernised is truly showing how scathing these CEO's can be to their acts, they're nothing but a diamond on a conveyer belt to the men in striped suits who's looking to cash out on them. And don't get me wrong I understand it's always been that way, but I was a 2nd gen stan and it's actually nuts how different the scope seems now. Looking at the global success of these acts wasn't in realm until BTS started cracking the charts internationally. These men have lost the plot.
Edonis Posted October 26 Posted October 26 Severely out of touch. Hybe is going to run the kpop industry into the ground more than it already has
RoseGold Posted October 26 Posted October 26 I still can't believe there are people defending this company. 1

Each generation was always ripping off/inspired by Western artists and Western trends. It's definitely not something that's new. 36 minutes ago, JO1s said: Something has to be said about all these Kpop company CEOs looking so unfortunate. They all scream predators and scammers. 1

It's not always being westernized, they had Jpop as an inspiration too the Biggest 2nd Gen Group:
NEX Posted October 26 Posted October 26 Super Shy was literally the first k pop song that smashed with me. I was looking forward to hear more from them

Looking at the global success of these acts wasn't in realm until BTS started cracking the charts internationally. These men have lost the plot. One good thing about K-Pop going global is that issues like this can't happen as easily. Idols speak out more, and they're treated more humanely. I remember getting into EXO and reading interviews about them barely being fed and basically having to work like slaves. Now, there are idols who can take entire eras off to deal with mental or physical health issues, and some even speak out—whether directly or indirectly—about corporate greed. 3

aesthetic bih Posted October 26 Posted October 26 Doing this when NJ's copy/replacement is currently flopping lmao Oh this is a terrible decision. But this is a dead-end situation for NJ, sadly. Hopefully someone poaches NJ so they can finally be free! 2 1

I Am Music Posted October 26 Posted October 26 (edited) This is exactly why I stopped checking out new acts after awhile cause kpop companies don't care about the clout or revenue an artist gives them. They will replace them with someone else. SM treated SNSD like crap cause they dared to want to negotiate their renewal and this was post icon status. These companies really do not care and will go scorched earth before doing the right thing that makes sense. Edited October 26 by I Am Music 2
