blackstar Posted October 26 Posted October 26 i mean, me personally, if i saw someone who acted like **** to me one time and if i see then few months later, i would call them out as well. just because she's famous doesn't mean she's not allowed to call out other people's bs, but that's just me i guess 4 1

Just a Gay on ATRL Posted October 26 Posted October 26 She seems very hard to please and always seeking out things to complain about. If she wants this to become a defining part of her image, she's welcome to do so, but this is already what's happening. I hate to break it to her, but she's going to come across more major assholes in her career, and people she doesn't like for one reason or another, and she (within reason) has to learn to roll with the punches more in this department. The average person, including myself, has plenty of coworkers or, hell, even personal life acquaintances, that we dislike or make us uncomfortable for various reasons. In our own best interests, we have to tolerate and be professional/neutral around them because escalating our issues with them would just make things worse for everyone. Choose your battles for when they matter more, as they say. If the guy was doing something really horrible to her, the gunning for him would make more sense, but he just sounds like he's not worth the trouble honestly. I don't doubt many photographers make totally whack comments, but she should maybe consider why is she the only one doing this on red carpets while none of her other peers are? Also before anyone says anything, I would say the same thing about a man who acted like this on the red carpet. 4 2 1

Imagine how insufferable she is to work with and advise with all the narcissism and entitlement. No wonder her management dipped. As you said, this weirdo behavior is coming to define her instead of her music or her performance skills which are undoubtable. She needs to correct course but she's probably impossible to advise as I said. 2 1
Riverbank Posted October 26 Posted October 26 The photographer just commented y'all omg: Spoiler i'm so disheartened to hear this. I actually don't even remember getting the chance to meet you because i had an anxiety attack and to my memory, left before the rest of my family (this was around 1 year ago and at the time i was really not great with being in public crowds or loud places)... but if i'm misremembering this moment, i sincerely apologize for offending you so. thank you for being so nice to my mom, she told me how lovely you were (she might have different feelings about that now but i'll talk to her... clearly, we all have our days!) sending love always. ♡ Spoiler 15 1
Digitalism Posted October 26 Posted October 26 This is clear case of people hating just for the sake of it. She is not being a diva to all the photographers. She is talking to on specific photographer that did something to her and yall don't know what. So why would you be angry? I've seen celebrities say much worse to paparazzis 7 5
Bookmark99 Posted October 26 Posted October 26 This has to be some kind of act to keep her name in the headlines 2
crymelanie Posted October 26 Posted October 26 Shes diva but the second confronting wasnt needed someone show her blank wall challenge :kii:

I guess this keyboard warrior probably thinks they're strong, kind of like Chappell Roan, punching down on red carpet phorographers as a celebrity. How brave. I **** men you buffoon. It should be every queers duty to call out all the rancid misogynistic and lesbophobic gay men they come across. Pretending my slightly inflammatory comment is anywhere near as damaging as the bile that's been spewed on here on a daily basis(and especially towards an easy target like Chappell) is pure nonsense. Plus you are a Kamala supporter The way(for some time now tbh) you have been more scandalized by my comments than kamala gleefully aiding Israel in the massacre of hundreds of thousands Palestinians shows the depravity and hypocrisy of the average american liberal homosexual. Let's leave the moralizing for someone else 2 3
Oktober Knight Posted October 26 Posted October 26 Why are y'all mad that she's confronting the photographer that yelled at her at the VMAs? 1
Communion Posted October 26 Posted October 26 The way 99% of the negative comments in here are caus she didn't endorse Kamala and would be yas queening her if she had instead did. 1 1 5

The world doesn't revolve around the US elections. Touch some grass, people are negative simply because she's annoying. Nothing more or less. 3 5

I agree it shouldn't impact how people vies her as a celebrity (there's tons of annoying pro-Kamala celebs who I'm not gonna start liking just cause they did endorse her) but this thread shows a level of parasocial mental illness some users engage with pop culture due to politics. The 180 can't be explained otherwise. I agree with you that the people having a meltdown over everything she does probably need a breather. 2 3
Gladiator Posted October 26 Posted October 26 (edited) Y'all just don't like her. Therefore anything she does you don't like and find annoying. This is not diva behavior. This is recognizing someone from the past who disrespected you and demanding respect. It's standing up for yourself. Millions of people do this every single day. Edited October 26 by Gladiator 1

The mental gymnastics to defend a popstar that will NEVER know you exist -that is parasocial mental illness my friend. If the only time people read about you is when you're complaining then that's the stigma you will receive, like it or not. It was more of a 90 degree turn followed by another 90 degree turn rather than a 180 - the average person doesn't want to listen to rich people complain about petty stuff. 3
Communion Posted October 26 Posted October 26 (edited) 4 minutes ago, ThatGUY said: To defend a popstar What did she do that even needs defending? Surely you see the irony to suggest I am mad yet you're apparently upset enough that you feel offended over something she's apparently done and view people not caring as defending her. What has been done that has apparently rattled you? I'm not seeing it personally. Kinda confused tbh. Edited October 26 by Communion 1

What has been done that has apparently rattled do? I'm not seeing it personally. Kinda confused tbh. I couldn't care less about Chappel Roan or her music but to sit here and make silly remarks about parasocial relationships when you're arguing with strangers online over a pop star is the eptiomy of hypocrisy. It is simple, Chappel is in the news a lot solely for her negative attitude, therefore people will be negative about that. No one, right or wrongly, wants to hear rich people in very fortunate careers complaining about life and that's all we hear from Chappel. Whether I agree or not is irrelevant, I'm simply replying to your statement that people are negative because of the US election 4
Communion Posted October 26 Posted October 26 Just now, ThatGUY said: I couldn't care less about Chappel Roan or her music Wait, you sought out candid paparazzi footage of her talking to someone on a red carpet shared online that you would have never encountered in real life unless you sought it out? And yet feel burdened by some negative omnipresence you feel she has in pop culture? Girl you can just close the website tab. A group of teenage lesbians aren't going to murder you in your sleep if you don't constantly seek out Chappell Roan content. 2
