Popular Post gettsleazy Posted October 25 Popular Post Posted October 25 I feel bad for her on the basis that no woman should have to go through what Kesha went through. Regardless of whether or not she willingly signed the contract and/or voiced her support for Luke in the past, it's upsetting to think that a woman is under the financial and career control of a proven abuser. Now that she is free herself I imagine that Kesha would wish the same for all women and it's weird to see people dunking on Kim for this. I would love for her to speak out on this and stand in solidarity with Luke's other accusers. 29
Lady Claire Posted October 25 Posted October 25 Ever since she signed with Republic things went wrong, because they don't know how to market her and hope something will stick for her as a mainstream artist (guess what? it won't!). Kim said she wanted to drop TOTL 3 under the condition that she would drop visuals too, and clearly Republic won't give her the budget for that. I think she's still allowed to drop her projects like mixtapes (like SPM, Problématique) with no videos, singles or promo. A lot of money was spent on FTB (and Problématique v1) only for it to flop. Maybe she's tired of that condition or they just won't let her release anything else at all... which is pointless, when they could've just dropped her and let her go from that contract. As of Dr. Luke, i think it doesn't make sense that he's stopping her... technically speaking. He's the one who produces (most of) her songs, why would he stop her from releasing something he did himself? and when she was only signed with him she used to put like 2 projects a year and also had more videos released, bc she didn't have to meet the expectations of big budgets from a huge label. But anyways, we don't know anything about it, maybe he's not producing her new material and won't let her release it indeed? Maybe Republic was not happy with her previous album's performances and won't let her drop anything? Maybe it's both? I think everything is speculation and i really want her to bring more light to her actual situation. She's still working on her upcoming album but by the looks of it, i think Republic will once again put her on a stressful and long album campaign hoping for a hit that will never come. 3 1
Lady Claire Posted October 25 Posted October 25 Also it was the dumbest move by Republic/Luke/whoever is on charge to not let her drop new music during this summer. Charli and more alt/niche artists gained more attention in the mainstream and it would be a perfect scenario for her to capitalize on it somehow... hell, even TOTL (which is her most acclaimed project by the public) could use a lil revival. She's just doomed 3
dumbsparce Posted October 26 Posted October 26 I didn't even know there was 3rd Turn Off The AOTY in the works. Here's hoping for a 2025 release.
Bethenny Frankel Posted October 26 Posted October 26 is republic holding her hostage or something? it's been crickets from her since problematique
BlueBlue Posted October 26 Posted October 26 Kim was able to release Sl*t pop. Sl*t pop Miami. Even scrapped problematique and now there is a issue? This is weird

NEUTRON Posted October 26 Posted October 26 this sucks but I get it... from 2023-24 she dropped 3 albums in 7 months

She has no sense of accountability. She knew the type of person he was when she started working with him. Obviously I don't want someone to go through what Kesha went through, but if the extent of this is "Kim Petras can't release more music in a year she already released an album" then who cares. This isn't stan **** but keep using buzzwords you heard once before. Edited October 26 by Spark 6 1 1

Adam’s Eve Posted October 26 Posted October 26 Accidentally leak it Kim, it'll be a gay Christmas miracle

MaxMartin Posted October 26 Posted October 26 people saying she should stick to cirkut & co and I agree but the thing is, I don't think she can afford him... The sessions she had with Ian Kirkpatrick , cirkut , Billboard and the Max camp were financed by republic
SlimyGhoul Posted October 26 Posted October 26 Something is *definitely* up, just not sure what. I hope that she gets this worked out, because I really do think Kim is a talented pop artist. She has a great voice for pop and an ear for melodies/hooks/etc. I want her to get away from l*ke and republic, it was never good for her and she'll be better off when she's gone from them. 1
