So if I understand this correctly the good sis is still making over 100k a year with her music (if it's around the same amount as her feet pics) without touring, releasing new music for years or actually doing anything at all? Does she know how much this is and how privileged she is? And what the hell did she expect?

which is still around a million a year in profits alone from spotify. If she has a bad contract and only gets around 10% it would equate to around 100k. Not to mention there is also touring, licensing etc to make some more.

She is almost right though. It's fair but she could be touring easily and get more money instead?... She could be doing the festival rounds, the touring rounds, etc... she might not necessarily sell Wembley stadium but she could do touring on smaller scales and sell well so....

 

But she is right though, that she should absolutely be getting more money from streams. Streaming KILLED the industry to be honest, and it is probably why most of them dont bother promoting that much anymore - there's barely any money in streaming

She might get a 15% cut from the label. So we end up with:

 

$34,782 * 0.15 = $5,217

 

She's getting ~$10k from OF as others said, so yeah, having 1000 people is way more profitable than 8M people on Spotify
