A gay Bangladeshi man who fled to the UK in order to escape persecution for his sexuality was refused asylum by the Home Office, with a judge accusing him of pretending to be gay.

Monsur Ahmed Chowdhury had his applications for asylum rejected by a judge following a hearing in March 2018 after moving to the UK as a student in 2009.

The judge also called being gay a "lifestyle" and questioned why Chowdhury had not brought any witnesses who could corroborate "how the Appellant has behaved as someone who is gay".

Chowdhury provided evidence of attending LGBTQ+ pride events and club nights as well as an image where he appeared to be watching same-sex *****graphy but the judge said this was clearly "staged".

"There is, quite clearly, a great desire on the part of the Appellant to try to present this picture that he is a gay man but, in my judgment, there is far too much manufacturing and posturing and that, in my judgment, undermines the fundamental credibility of the Appellant," the judge said.

Basically, the judge said they're deporting him because he couldn't find a boyfriend in a decade


Knowing how shallow most gays are, even many local gays would be single for ages

My thing is, even if he was "pretending" (which I don't condone), he must have been going through a lot to do all of that just to stay there. Besides, he's been there since 2009, let him stay

Story of my ******* life. Whenever i encountered a gay ( at an event) they clutched their pearls and asked "Why a straight is here" like ma'am its not my fault that i was born in the land of sand with a chest hair and beard that would literally grow the NEXT day if i shaved. And the only time my voice pitch goes soft is when im having my soul sucked out my.......

 

Or " You dont look the type" ma'am i was just rimming a fat ass 10 minutes ago. Should i record for reference? And the only time i went to a gay club in Melbourne i was asked to prove i was gay. I told the security guard to bend over and he said that sounded straight. I had to leave because everyone at the club would come up and ask " are you  lost , there's different types of "girls" here and guys offering bjs to a "straight" ".
