I don't understand. Rihanna + Drake still far outstream Ariana + The Weeknd. Is that just the total streams of their collaborations?

don't they have more collabs than them too? :suburban:

Yes, "male-female duo" in the post means the streams accumulated by the Ariana x Weeknd collabs surpass the Rihanna x Drake collabs

if you're surpassing an iconic and very successful duo like Rihanna & Drake it's not ridiculous.

Not really. Most of Ariana/The Weekends collabs were released around 2020 which well into the streaming era.

What's My Name & Take Care came out almost 15 years ago. So it's really not a valid comparison….

Rihanna and Drake both have individual songs pulling huge streams from that era still. Work and Too Good were released in 2016 and both are pulling less daily streams than Love Me Harder which was released 2 years before.

Technically it is MØ and Major Lazer, although their collabs also included other people:

MØ x Major Lazer: 3,946,123,778 (3 songs + tiny remixes)

Ariana Grande x The Weeknd: 3,830,403,289 (4 songs + tiny remixes and live versions)

Also bonus (ik the tweet specified male-female):

Post Malone x Swae Lee: 3,905,616,965 (2 songs)

I'm sure there are quite a few hip-hop duos that have huge totals as well since that genre is known for frequent collaboration. Future & Metro have full albums together so I assume they're up there too.

Ariana and Abel are just an iconic duo. From Love Me Harder to Off The Table to Save Your Tears to Die For You…iconic.

Oh yeah right I forgot, of course. I was just looking at the most streamed songs. Future x Metro are actually below 2.5bil but 21 Savage x Metro Boom have 7.2bil from their 3 collab albums. Drake x Future have 6.3bil from their 1 collab album + 8 singles.
