Did I misquote her?

trying to get a quick laugh on behalf of a black woman when she's purposefully already inverting the phrase the right wingers uses is... a choice

The worst thing about Detroit is how dependent on cars it is to get around.  And the rest of the country aside from a few islands of civilization is already like that.

If Fox News viewers knew who Lizzo was this would become a Springfield-tier talking point :deadbanana4:

I'm not gonna bother interacting with twitter, but as someone who is from Detroit, it's just funny seeing us in the news like this. Detroit still has it's bad parts yeah, but the downtown area is safe, thriving, tons of stuff to do and really nice. I honestly kinda hope more people think it's all a **** hole that way we don't too many trying to move here and boom Atlanta

She's talking about the good aspects. Goes on to say "Proud like Detroit, resilient like Detroit" which I suppose is accurate. When the automobile industry there died it went downhill but from what I've heard from family they're doing a decent job of bringing it back.

I don't live in the US and even I know that Detroit has had an extraordinary economic resurgence post-covid after decades of decline that lead to it's full bankruptcy in 2013

I've seen plenty of videos about it on social media.
