Cruel Summer Posted October 21 Posted October 21 4 minutes ago, Feanor said: Not almost 50k of Charli's sales being filtered out, this is one of the biggest chart frauds in recent memory. When's the last time an album got almost a third of its units thrown out? Do we actually know sales were thrown out? I'm still absolutely certain that this was a Luminate data issue at its heart; there's no way for ~50k units' legitimacy to actually be in question unless we're talking about something on the scale of Taylor's first week and rebalancing to the algorithm that translates reported sales into estimated final totals, on that same week. It reminds me of the time Lana got a top ten on the Hot 100, only for us to find out shortly after that it was a data issue. 3
Gossip_Boy Posted October 21 Posted October 21 Wasn't the chart announcement supposedly delayed because Jelly Roll and Charli were neck and neck for #1 with around 150k? Did she have 40K+ sales filtered because yikes. The Travis mess and the Paris Hilton sales filtering weren't too long ago either. Record labels have become way too shameless. 1
KOMH Posted October 21 Posted October 21 Why are XCX stans trying to divert attention from the fact that Billboard filtered out ~50k sales from her album? The thread where her fans were hurling fatphobic slurs at Jelly Roll for stating a simple fact is still up on ATRL 2 11 3

However, not many artists record voice notes and plaster them onto 27638939336 versions of their albums There are a whooping total of 3 voice memo variants of TTPD. And these voice memo are there to show the most demo form of the songs, which serves a better artistic purpose than slowed/sped up versions that could be generated by literally anybody. 9

chris1991 Posted October 21 Posted October 21 Charli was the ultimate Khia! This is a huge up for her! Not yall hating on this queen! Who doesn't want a #1 album. Everyone uses different tactics to get here. Katy, Gaga .99 cents, Taylor etc. 2

Slowed/sped up versions are literally bottom of the barrel in terms of artistic integrity. Edited October 21 by Klein 11 1

americanlife Posted October 21 Posted October 21 (edited) I'm upset but whatever. All we know is the impact of BRAT is bigger than anything Jelly Roll will ever do. Edited October 21 by americanlife 2 1

Green Posted October 21 Posted October 21 so everything was HDD's fake news? Because Charli's numbers were around the same of the tuesday prediction (110k), final numbers: 105k The one who got the big increase was Jelly Roll (he increased from 134k to 161k)
