If you're not Muslim woman why do you care so much? Are you looking to convert?

What is this closed minded response? :skull: You know this is a fórum where you share opinions about plenty of topics right?

My response wasn't close minded. My response was me inquiring why the OP wants to know about Muslim Women and what they stand for. You do know this site is on Beyoncé's internet so they could've just googled it. If it's not your monkey, it isn't your circus. :toofunny2:

No, Islam is not misogynistic or anti-feminist. Even if they would be, it's not our place to judge. Please, respect other cultures.

Why is DiabeticGrandpa okay with stereotyping?

It's not a stereo type. In Saudia Arabia women were first allowed to have a driver's license in 2019. And women aren't allowed to walk without their hijab in many arabic countries. It's in their law.

These replies here don't know how the muslim world works. Comparing a Christian pastor calling for beheading gay people is a total dumbass example because Christian countries don't allow that. But it's in the LAW of Muslim countries to be misoginy and homophobic because their politics and religion are intertwined. In the Christian world it is not which is where the difference lies. And because of the law being intertwined with the religion, it is very hard for Muslim people to get liberated and educated on different topics such as women's rights and LGBTQ+.

I'm not gonna pretend that I've read any of the holy books so coming strictly from an observatory standpoint, it does indeed freak me out how much pride muslim women carry for being covered head to toe with that ominous-looking hijab. They even have it on when they swim :rip: There's no way they'd feel the need to restrict themselves so much if they were raised in a different religion or atheist.

Meanwhile the men are allowed to **** anything that moves and no one will stone them to death, unless they're an atrl member ofc

It is. Also it's a religion not a culture. We as gays should call out all of this instead of defending it.

Threads like this shouldn't be allowed because you can't actually be honest so its sort of pointless.

And IDK why women in general are religious as all the major ones are misogynistic

Why are Christian women okay with misogyny and homophobia?

Actually christians are the ones who are the most open about LGBTQ and the woman is not a slave to cook and raise kids. Orthodox people are wrong too but in general, christians are the most open

Some of these users on here know very little about the community and religion. It is factually correct that women aren't allowed to not wear their hijab in many places but in those places where it's allowed to go without it women still aren't as liberated as in the Western world. They are simply taught to not be too liberated from the get-go. The most scandalous female popstar in the Arabic world was considered too explicit by both men and women because she looked like a "prostitute" and when you look at her she literally is as sexual as Adele is :rip:

The joke's on the users here downvoting op. If you haven't been around muslim people or know enough personally then stop ******* talking. My friend and I met a muslim girl from high school we were buddies with and she stood with her husband. I greeted her with a hug and she pushed me away saying "what are you doing, I have a husband". She then proceeded to ignore me completely during the five-minute chat with my friend and I, her husband starred at me like he wanted to kill me and a couple of hours or days later I don't remember she managed to delete me from all her social media. And if you ask ANY muslim woman they'll tell you that they simply aren't allowed to greet men that aren't family when they're married with more than a nod. Because they will be seen as dirty. But the women think that's okay and they agree with it but that's because it's in their culture and their culture is so heavily intertwined with their religion. Just look at the language. So many normal things when translated have "Allah" in them and so do last names. I mean, get educated people instead of these replies. This is not the time to be woke.

This has to be a troll thread, right? :rip: Cause how are we STILL talking about groups of HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF PEOPLE like they're all the same??? What the ****? I'm not religious and I certainly see issues with how religion has been practiced and is still being practiced, but I'll never act like a religion (or any other group for that matter) is inherently x or y.

We should be able to talk about issues we're worried about (also when it's outside of our own religion imo, cause I feel we should be able to worry about other people's rights and safety), but we should not act like everyone's the same.

Every religion has been and will be interpreted in many different ways and acting like there's one 'true form' of a religion isn't helping anyone. It's actually deflecting from the problem by acting like the problem has a simple cause, when in reality, it doesn't. Cause in reality misogyny has been prevelant in so many cultures through so many ways. If you really worry about women, you should be asking different questions: why do people still use religion as a reason to downgrade women to second class citziens? When women grow up in environments where they're seen as less, how does that impact their own wants and needs regarding freedom and equality? If people have the idea men and women are not equal, are we supposed to say that it's their choice and we should let them be, or are we supposed to stand up for our own believe and meddle in other people's lifes? That's asking the real questions. They don't have simple answers, cause they don't pretend like the world is simple. The world is full of contradictions. The world is complex. Stop trying to simplify it by putting people in one category. It's harmful for them AND the cause you're trying to fight for.

If you find it natural to see Gays , Lesbians and Transgender people be beheaded or women that are slaves and can't even express themselves (and some of them are brainwashed to the point they can't even think on their own) and if they show their knee they are sentenced to rape and being stoned just because it's a 'different interpretation ' or a 'different way' you are part of the problem

I never said I was okay with it, wtf? I also never said those things are just another way to interpret religion? Gross to put these words in my mouth tbh. Those things are disgusting. We should battle them. But by simply stating it's because of Islam is wild and not helping anyone. People use Islam (or whatever they can find) to act like those things are okay, but that doesn't make all of Islam bad. By acting like it's just Islam, you're ignoring bigger societal and historical factors we have to talk about. Without talking about those, we'll never stop the things you talked about from happening. If you truly believe if Islam wasn't there these things wouldn't happen, you're naive. Misogyny goes deeper than religion. That's why it's not productive to act like it's just a product of (one) religion, especially not if you act like everyone in the religion is like that.

Ask yourself the question why LGBTQ muslims in here and on Stan twitter are 99% in the closet even with their own mothers or fathers because they are scared they would do something on them.

I met Muslim people who don't force hijab or 'modesty' on women and they think people can do whatever they want. but they sadly are a minority
