Hector Posted October 17 Posted October 17 "Maps," from Yeah Yeah Yeahs' 2003 album Fever to Tell, peaked at No. 87 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2004. Its TikTok resurgence has pushed the song to new heights on chart-reporting music streaming services; the song racked up 1.9 million official U.S. streams in the week ending Oct. 10, up 23%, according to Luminate. The tune remains driven by a pair of trends on TikTok. One is a dance, while the other features creators using a filter to remove their facial features, only to have said features float back onto their face, sometimes in the wrong spot. A sped-up version of "Maps" has contributed to the song's success on TikTok as well. May the resurgence continue
St. Charles Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Sometimes I'm really obsessed with an older song and then it goes viral on TikTok and I look basic. Happy for the resurgence of the song though! 1
Draper. Posted October 17 Posted October 17 I hate that TikTok people always claim to love songs like this, Dreams by Fleetwood Mac and Running Up that Hill by Kate Bush because they go viral but NEVER bother to check anything else by those artists. 1 1
