Will the UK become the skinniest island in the world?

They need it.

There are so many fat brits it's unbelievable.

But still some fat birds manage to score hot scally chavs so they have my respect.

Nah, the UK just has a culture of not wanting to work and blaming immigrants for taking their jobs while getting unemployment benefits sourced from taxes paid by those same immigrants.

Maybe we should just be prescribing cyanide to xenophobic chavs

I'm not British, nor obese or unemployed, but I would love to get ozempic.

I know a couple of ATRLers who would be perfect candidates for this

Ozempic is not a weight loss drug. It's a medication for diabetes.

My diabetic father and many others who genuinely need Ozempic are having difficulty accessing it because many lazy fatties are using it for weight loss instead of dieting or working out.

I don't respect anyone who uses Ozempic to lose weight.

Why all this talk about Ozempic when Wegovey is the actual weight-loss drug? Ozempic is for diabetes

So dumb. Maybe just teach your country's children to eat healthy?

Giving people a pill to lose weight ain't going to change their bad diet habits.

Becki Jones should be top of the list for this

But how are they going to persuade people to use it? The government is right for wanting to get these people back into the workforce, but you can't force someone to take a drug they may not be comfortable with. Some people will be but there will be others who are hesitant.

The drug is the same. It's just that multiple brands are licensed to use it for different usages. Mounjaro is another brand of semaglutide and it was recently licensed for use as weight loss assistance and it'll likely be used in this trial too. But the active ingredient in Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro are the same.

I can confirm this to be true. The amount of larger women in the UK whose partner is smoking hot is insane. Good for you ladies!

On one hand this isn't a good idea because from what I've seen this medicine isn't meant for weight loss but for diabetes and those people need this more, I get that and we should have that take priority.

On the other hand it can be a good idea, but only if you're going to simultaneously make these people go to a nutritionist and learning how to eat well/exercise/manage their diets and put into practice while they lose the weight. It's pointless to put someone on a weight loss drug to just lose weight because then what happens when they lose the weight; they continue their bad habits and leads them back to the same place.

It's very discouraging to be trying to lose weight and nothing is working, so I get why this would be a plus because it would encourage people to lead healthier lifestyles when they actually see results, but it's gotta be done right and in alignment with learning to take care of yourself.

Speaking from personal experience, my mother recently got diagnosed with heart disease and she's been seeing a nutritionist 3 days a week and they have her working out properly and figuring out what foods work for her and have helped her to manage a good diet and with that alone she has seen a big difference and is losing weight. The doctor suggested something similar to Ozempic but is teaching her that you need to have good habits prior to taking something like that and how to live healthier when off of it. It's a tricky subject for everyone because not everyone's body functions/reacts the same to changes but still something to think about and could help people.

I'm not a scientist/medical professional so someone correct/inform me, but maybe figure out what it is in this drug that causes weight loss and formulate it to something else so diabetics aren't losing out on important meds. Idk, like I said, not very educated on the subject but could be helpful to look more into and not just written off :celestial5:
