This is a bop but im not a fan of the intro and that "yeah" part but not a big deal. She is on a run with releasing bops. Her last album was full of bops still listening to it so I'm expecting good bops from this album too. So far I like the two songs she released.

i feel like the reason it's doing so well in the uk charts is cos all that stuff is still ACR'd, they haven't let it rip over here yet

Radio is happening. She already has 150 plays and she'll probably debut on the chart tomorrow, if not today. They'll probably work it lowkey to have it be near the top 20 as the new year rolls in and then do a heavier push until the 3rd single comes in late Feb.

I spoke to music directors at radio stations they literally do not even have it available /never received it to play. The few stations that are playing it are doing so because they want too.

hopefully it's sent to radio Nov 26th so it grows as you mentioned, because radio adds gets closed for Dec and stations don't add anything new to playlist until around week of Jan 8th.

The pop masterpiece that this is :jonny5:the HOOK my GOD the VOCALS

This is easily her best song since "Greedy". In an ideal world would've been the follow-up to it.

This is solid but it always frustrates me how Canada hasn't supported its pop girls fully in the last decade or so. Like, Carly should've been the Canadian Kylie with hit after hit regardless of the US, but after "I Really Like You" it was like.... nothing. Newer girls like Reve and Jessia  don't get the kind of support that say British pop girls in the UK get. The charts are way too much a mirror of America.

Once you venture out of Canada cancon stops benefitting you :rip: It sucks because it means once an artist is growing and getting international acclaim Canada just pays them dust just because their songs no longer help them fill their 40% cancon rules. :grump:

probably why ioio is higher on US radio than Canadian radio as well.

is it based on where they live or something else?

No residence doesn't matter. BUT for a song to be considered "Canadian" the artist has to be Canadian(Canadian citizenship)+ either recorded in a canadian studio or written by Canadian songwriters.

so once canadian artists start recording in the US they're OUT, because they usually have american/european songwritings/producer at that point. This is why Carly's and Avril's later singles were paid dust.
