Nelson Mandela's grandson was banned from entering the UK for pro-Palestinian events

The British government has banned the entry of Mandla Mandela, grandson of anti-Apartheid icon Nelson Mandela, ahead of his UK tour in support of Palestinians and condemning Israel's actions as genocide.

According to reports, the British Consulate in South Africa imposed last-minute visa restrictions, despite none being required during Mandla's previous visits. Moreover, South African nationals are generally allowed to enter the UK visa-free for up to 90 days for business or tourism.

The west keeps losing credibility…they think it's ok for some reason but I swear y'all this is going to come back to bite us all in the ass in a major way. No one stays the hegemonic force forever and when it will be our turn suffering and going through immense pain no one in the global south will help because they will remember **** like this

I mean, he blamed NATO (of which the UK is a member) for Russias invasion of Ukraine so clearly he isn't a big fan of the UK. Why would they be obligated to give him a visa just because he has a cool family name? Seems like actual South Africans aren't big fans of him either:

A few days later, Makaziwe and 16 other family members filed an interdict with the Eastern Cape High Court, ordering Mandla to return the remains ofthree family members he controversially exhumed two years ago and re-buried in Mvezo.

Quote

His second wife Anais Grimaud (22) was impregnated by Mandla's 21-year old brother and his third marriage, to Mbali Makhathini, took place despite a court ban that was put in place after Mabunu insisted that he cannot marry another while they were still married. Mabunu has asked for the marriage to be annulled.A sheriff last year seized assets worth R100 000 from Mandla after he failed to pay maintenance to Mabunu, pending their divorce that has been lagging since 2009. Last year a female construction worker tried to open a case of assault against him after he allegedly assaulted her at a petrol station.

Quote

Mandla Mandela was sentenced on Wednesday to a fine of R10 000 rand or two years imprisonment.

However, an Mthatha magistrate has suspended two thousand rand of the fine for a year.

He was convicted in March of assaulting and pointing a firearm at school teacher Mlami Ngudle following an altercation in Mthatha in 2013.

Quote

Chiefs and villagers accuse Chief Mandla Mandela of disrespecting, ill-treating and even assaulting locals and impounding their cattle.

Having been convicted for assault tends to be taken into account as a negative factor for visa decisions.

The real reason here is because he was going to speak at pro-Palestinian events. You always find ways to justify the genocide and its enablers.

not really BUT they at least kept up a facade for a long time but these past like 10 years something has switched and they are having full mask off moments and its hitting a new zenith. Some would say the mask off moments came ages ago but Im telling u media was able to spin things successfully but not anymore. Social media has been the greatest exposer of pure evil and the west has exposed itself in such a way that even every day joe shmoes know it.

I don't think YOU are in a position to speak on assault, Bosque

Stop doing the most :rip: any country has the right to refuse entry for anyone if they so desire. A small time politician traveling to the UK would have done nothing to stop any genocide

We already don't have any in the rest of the world :skull: but I'm glad people within the west are starting to realize more and more what a load of bullshit our governments are spewing and have been for centuries
