In any way I was coming for Taylor, I think it's really she did this. My comment it was more about how unfair it is for someone to have that amount of money. But keep feeding the worms you have for brains, I guess :clap3:

Everything is unfair to people like you. Go complain to the government for failing it's people instead of bringing up a completely irrelevant point. Be glad people in need are getting help at all :clap3:

While that users OG comment was definitely just meant to drag Taylor and an unnecessary addition to the thread, don't you think the reason the government is failing it's people is because it only serves billionaires?

No, they serve themselves and their interests. Corrupt companies and rich people exploit that, yes. That's why there is no reason to be mad at someone who does help. Plus I doubt this will be the end of her donations. The hurricane hasn't even met land yet.

Their interests which just happen to align with those of rich people and rich companies? If it was all about their personal interests then the biggest problem in the US would be politicians lining their own pockets, but its not. The biggest problem is 0 welfare and an economic system which forces working class people to pay more and more of their paychecks to rent/food/education, making the rich richer. Billionaires or even mega-millionaires including all our faves are the reason the system is broken and until they are addressed poverty & inequality will keep increasing.

I think she will start a charity foundation one day. The amount of money she has donated over the years is huge.

Celeb charities are so wasteful as they just end up employing their friends and family and then less than 20% of their money actually goes to the cause because on their high payroll costs.

Donating to effective existing charities is the best way.

Their interest is bought with money. Do you think they'd give a **** if money wasn't flowing into their pockets? It doesn't really matter anyway, the result is the same and derailing the thread discussing their intentions is useless anyway. However, not all mega millionaires are the same. While i'm sure there is some exploitation happening with merch creation, etc ultimately taylor made her money by offering something non-essential and thus not exploitative. Real exploitation happens in the areas you mentioned - rent/food/healthcare etc.

At the end of the day this isn't even about that. It's about the people who are about to have their lives destroyed and any amount of money will feed them and help them stay alive, which is the ultimate goal. Using these people and their tragedy for petty stan wars is distasteful and gross. That's all I have to say on that topic :bird:

Only the stupid ones who use political talking points for stan wars. Because if they wanna be mad, they could have been focusing on the real issues like how the Speaker of the House (R) refuses to call the Representatives together to vote on emergency funding until after the election. Just because they're afraid that would make Biden-Harris look good in this purple-red state.

These OTHs literally have nothing productive to add into the conversation beside parroting snark subs' talking points of complete useless 0 cents like "thErE's nO eTHicAl BilLiOnairE". They literally can't handle a wholesome story without being completely insufferable about it.
