Deep diving into the original B9: Would we have seen Britney in all her GLORY?

No but there's actually a song called "Apple Pie" by Fiestar, written by Melania Fontana (writer of Mood Ring) who said she thought of Britney when writing it.

Yeah I'm glad I read it again because going by Britney's words ("Britney's words" now actually because the journalist later said during Free Britney that interviewing her wasn't really interviewing her), the plan was an eventual album regardless of the process' speed or Larry's soon-clarified "singles as they come" strategy. I think we just gotta be thankful it never came to be  But I wouldn't complain if we got leaks from that period. I wonder if it's possible to stipulate anything more from the Aspen camp, and if there were more camps and who were in them...

I'm surprised how much you know about this stuff! I remember asking one of the co writers of Apple Pie a long ago if it ever was for Britney but they told me it was always aimed to be a k-pop track :rip:

Tbh I was thinking of doing another mega thread but this time about Femme Fatale and the Teresa dropping mess and idk if you'd be interested in helping me, I have most of the info compilated but the more the merrier :psyduck:

I have a whole ass document about the creation of Femme Fatale (and Britney Jean too). I also wanted to create a thread detailing the timeline and people involved, but I have it quite abandoned lol. I'd happily help on anything you need tho

DOCUMENTS? damn I'd love to eye them out bc being honest I barely know about BJ 1.0 before Will.i.am was made the executive producer, all I remember rn is that Darkchild was involved and that's pretty much it.

Also if you have a thread in the works you should continue it! Don't be like Britney's team shelving material that the world wants to see smh! If you need help hit me up as well bc I'd love to help you as well :-*

Just the thought of resuming it exhausts me lmao but I promise to do it and share them one day!

About "original" BJ, it's tricky because I don't think it's explicit enough to confirm Britney recorded the material, but I think Darkchild and Hit-Boy can be confirmed producers. What's interesting about FF and BJ is that both had deadlines to meet, so reading about the news breaking Dr. Luke and will.i.am as exec producers, you'll notice they're albums done mostly in a matter of months. That didn't happen with Glory and you can tell she was happy with the process and final product (mainly because she was very vocal about it lmao).

Oddly, it's got a little Blackout-ish essence to it so I can see it.

Tbh at least they rescued some material from FF 1.0 for the Dr Luke version, How I Roll, Trip To Your Heart, Trouble For Me, IWG, Up N Down and Criminal  are all either from the 2009 sessions with Max Martin or from the Teresa 2010 camp, while BJ is a complete mistery, I wonder if she recorded any song in 2012 that she fully sings that was scrapped in favor of any of the Myah-packed messes, I hate how little transparency the Britney Jean process had compared to Circus or FF 💀

I think HIR may be from Dec 2010 but yeah it's lowkey a miracle Dr. Luke let other people's songs in the album... Just ask poor William Orbit :-x Not funny how he saved a spot for will.i.am, and how will.i.am returned the favor for BJ... He can show "Free Britney" on his music videos all he wants but I DON'T trust you, William Adams.

Tbh the pitch demos from the 2010 Texas Camp for Femme Fatale are still my favorite thing in the world, specially Vertigo which I'm still mad that wasn't recorded (Kinda Off Topic, but Coco's work is so underrated, she knows how to capture Britney's "artsy-fartsy" musical side)

Luke deserves a special place in hell for filling up the final album with his tracks and Benny Blanco's, absolutely no ONE asked for the Pot Of Vegetables song or the obvious filler that Seal It With A Kiss is; the fact that he credited himself as a background vocalist in songs like TTWE and made some of his relatives "production assistants" to maximize his income from the tracks tells you how unprofessional he is, I'm sure Will.i.am knows a thing or two about unethical business choices as well considering the Mind Your Business release last year, just big and greedy smh.

I'm still mad that we only have one Femme Fatale era unreleased, which is a rough demo half sung by other people, specially considering that she recorded over 50 tracks and only 17 made it to the album, and no other songs from that era seem to be in ciculation since, ever? Being a Knee stan is so frustrating UGH

Omg, I LOVE Vertigo too. Nicole is a doll, talented and has always praised Britney so I've got her back. I don't think she attended the Texas camps but to my knowledge she was already writing for Britney then.

Don't get me wrong but I love Femme Fatale, it just sucks it was more of an album served to Britney when you know she'd have loved to be more involved and hands on. It never sat right with me how Dr. Luke would talk about the project, always very directorial and possessive. Like, don't refer to Britney as a "vehicle", for f**k's sake!

I don't think he's faking his background vocals tho, TTWE has that "crowd" chant vibe and it's very Max Martin to make a bed/layers of different voices to make the song sound fuller. Even in songs like "Since U Been Gone" you'll find Dr. Luke's vocals buried in there.
