Born to Run Posted October 2 Posted October 2 (edited) "I sing live at every show 100%," the "Espresso" singer wrote. "Would you like to speak to my audio engineers?" The user then responded and took Carpenter up on her offer: "I would and tell them to lower the backtrack voice as its way too high." Edited October 2 by Born to Run
magazine Posted October 2 Posted October 2 (edited) My sis does not need to prove anything when she's been a SINGER for years and years Espresso is a cutsie song with a bunch of vocal layers, no one really cares about live vocals. Edited October 2 by magazine 2 1 4

ChooseyLover Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Do people really expect these big concerts to be 100% live as if they were dive bar gigs? Of course there is a backing track. 5 1

Julia Fox Posted October 2 Posted October 2 She tends to lay a lot on the backtrack on upbeat songs, but with the ballads she proved that she SINGS live on this tour. Not gonna talk about her previous performances/tours because she has known to be one of the few girls that can sing live Even with "Taste" you can hear that she's singing live while dancing 2 1

Girl even Lana abuses the hell out of back tracks and relies on her fans singing almost every note you can't be that delusional to start to criticize any singer and their vocal abilities with that avi really Edited October 2 by Julia Fox 2 2
brraap Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Nothing out of the ordinary to use backing tracks on tour. The people are reaching your honour
Saint James Posted October 2 Posted October 2 i mean we already peeped the backing track during The Eras Tour so. not much to say here.
Vixen Eyes Posted October 2 Posted October 2 i cannot list a single singer who DOESNT use a backing track since like the 90s other than singers like Eartha Kitt, etc never used them 2

I was referring about the bolded part. I do care about live vocals. And yes, both Lana and Sabrina abuse backing tracks but still sing live and that's fine.

Sabrina Carpenter cannot sing Espresso hook 100% live, after doing the whole show, while dancing in her 10-inch heels and looking pretty. when people don't move around too much to give y'all vocals, y'all are quick to "go girl give us nothing" them. if they move around and use a track, they're "lip syncing everything." somehow there's no in-between. even Beyoncé got the "low energy" accusations for RWT when she's singing live 90-95% of it. 1
havewemet Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Every single (pop) artist uses backing tracks and vocals to some degree, if not background singers. Truly if you've ever been to a concert you should know this. Do you want it to sound good? Then be okay with some lipping. It's her song and her voice and she's putting on a SHOW so why does it matter? 1
Just a Gay on ATRL Posted October 2 Posted October 2 can people just stfu sometimes? there really is not much else to say on that. if you don't like sabrina, don't go
Letters From Adi Posted October 3 Posted October 3 You want her to sing all of it live while running around in heels and doing choreo?
pavi Posted October 3 Posted October 3 If artists just started hiring backing vocalists again and got rid of the backing track we wouldn't have to have this conversation every single week. I'm so tired of going to concerts and not being able to hear the difference between live vocals an backing track. I don't need a show to be 100% live, but I want to be able to tell what parts are live tbh 1 1
OnlyManInTheWorld Posted October 3 Posted October 3 She relies heavily on backing track, but the mic is still on.

And yall know why that is, she cant put on the original voice of her recordings. Her sweet and airy voice is high larynx for her. You can't be ariana while not being her. I love Sabrina, but her just changing her vocals since nonsense is giving me try-hard and amateur. 2
TOKYO. Posted October 3 Posted October 3 Its like Britney Spears. She had the same problem. You cant sing nonstop with high larynx and airy if you are not a light soprano at least.
