Lauryn Hill is being sued by her Fugees co-member Pras Michél for fraud and breach of contract.
 

Michél claims that Hill's "arrogance" and "narcissistic tendencies" helped to sabotage their cancelled comeback tour. 
He claims that Hill pitched the reunion as her solo tour had failed and she needed the other 2 members, also including Wyclef Jean, to increase ticket sales as she "realised that the only chance for her to perform at arena size venues and feed her insatiable ego would be to reunite".
 

Michél also claims that Hill has "tarnished the Fugees brand" due to "her habit of showing up late for shows, sometimes by as many as 2 to 3 hours." This week, Hill allegedly showed up at 3am for a set in Nairobi after she was supposed to be perform at 8pm.
 

The 2023 Fugees tour, which was canceled abruptly by Hill, left Michél owing nearly $1 million in unrecouped expenses because "Hill was taking 40% of the tour guarantees and tour net profits 'off the top' for herself, leaving the remaining 60% to be split equally between Hill, Pras and Wyclef," the suit states. Michél and his representatives only recently learned of that setup and demanded a financial audit that they were denied.
 

Earlier this year, Hill allegedly entered into a new agreement with Live Nation for Fugees US tour scheduled to kick off in August 2024.
She never disclosed the agreement to Michél. Ticket sales were dismal, which Michél blames on Hill. As a result, Live Nation pulled the plug in August, prompting speculation about what really torpedoed the highly anticipated tour.

 

The lawsuit also claims that the Fugees had been offered $5m to play Coachella but Hill turned it down because she allegedly felt snubbed by the festival for putting No Doubt at the top of the bill.
"Hill's arrogance was again demonstrated when she unilaterally rejected a $5m offer [to play Coachella]," it reads. "The reason was that her ego was bruised since the group No Doubt would be receiving top billing over The Fugees the night of their show. Hill never told Pras about the offer or that she had rejected it. Pras only learned about it when it was too late, after Hill, in an astonishing display of hubris, asked Michél if he would agree to perform a few Fugees songs for free as the opening act for her son, YG Marley, who was slated to perform at the same Coachella festival."

I saw Wyclef open for Janet three days ago and he was really good! He sang, rapped, danced, played the guitar in interesting ways and interacted with the audience really well. And he played lots of classics including the finale of Hips Don't Lie.

I was PUZZLED at the fact that I kept getting ads for shows in Germany, no one in their sound mind would get tickets at this point surely

I saw her live in Berlin in 2019 and surprisingly she was not too late on stage there. 😂 There was even a free m&g for the first 100 fans, as I later learned on Instagram from another fan.
