popmusicisdead Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Lana stans do too much on Jack like Ocean Boulevard was some panned flop mess like Solar Power. he has yet to fail her. maybe if it was Taylor or Lorde i'd be mad 3 15 4
Gladiator Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Its kind of wild to me how the perception of Jack working with artists is when NFR and Ocean Blvd is regarded by both her fans and non-fans as her best material beyond some subjective taste. 13

Taylor needs to end that relationship asap and I don't want to see him barking up Lorde's tree again but he's been involved with Lana's 3 best albums. Leave me alone 2
diemoehre Posted October 2 Posted October 2 I am also surprised by the title, I thought people liked their work together.
Solaria Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Jack has an issue with giving the artists he work with way too much freedom. Ocean Blvd and TTPD were literally copy pasted from their journals, put in production, and went to the pressing. Lana and Taylor both need an editor. Bring back structure. Bring back melodies. 5 1
Acuminatus Posted October 2 Posted October 2 While Jack and Taylor need to stop working with each other, I don't mind another Lana album with him. Though even that combo might start to get stale
Black Sunflower Posted October 2 Posted October 2 (edited) Stupid ass title. As if Ocean Blvd isn't her most critically acclaimed work and beloved by her fans. Dumbass. Edited October 2 by Black Sunflower 1

Ridiculous post. Ocean Blvd is one of the best penned albums of all time 2 3
BrattyBottom Posted October 2 Posted October 2 YOURE NOT GETTING BORN TO DIE 2 YOURE NOT EVEN GETTING PINK FRIDAY 2. She's booked and busy marrying alligators and trying out the newest disposable vapes. We will accept and love COCC (cuntry version)
mike_int Posted October 2 Posted October 2 I would so want her to go to bigger and fuller production just like she had on BTD and also more melodic songs btw question for the Lana fans: Can you suggest which songs on her albums after BTD (and paradise edition) could fit onto BTD when it comes to production and melodies.

Sawk Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Jack and Lana are probably the best DUO he has going for him, his work with other artists has been pretty mid lately, but Lana seems to bring out the best in him and vice versa. I'm not TOO thrilled about them working together on yet another record, but ANYTHING is better than what she was doing on Blue Tankisters, I'll take it
DougAF Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Delete this thread immediately, them together gave us Venice *****
SlowGinFizzzz Posted October 2 Posted October 2 The collaboration between Lana and Jack started out on an extremely high level (NFR) but got progressively more basic and reductive with every album that followed, and unfortunately as we've seen with other artists, once they're too comfortable with Jack, there's seemingly no going back to a more daring and sophisticated sound within that work relationship. I wish Lana tried something completely unexpected and new again. Like, imagine an album produced by a rock musician like Lenny Kravitz, or something totally different, maybe produced by AG Cook (who has proven with productions for Hikaru Utada, Beyoncé or Troye Sivan that he can do a lot more than "just" hyperpop). 3 1

Dumbass. i wonder what planet some of you live on because it's very far from being either of those things OT : jack + lana albums are staler than old bread atp but we've seen the mess (blue banisters) she comes up without him these days so i guess this will at least ensure a good/non-snoozefest album… but i really miss her doing exciting, genre switching production over another bunch of piano and string songs 2 1 1 2
