It's closer to being this gen's LOUD, which is still incredibly impressive. Espresso, PPP, and Taste mirror Only Girl, WMN, and S&M, even down to the second single being the first #1 single of the era (although in Sabrina's case, unfortunately only #1 of the era—but that's more a commentary on the strength of the charts right now than her hitmaking prowess).

The thing about the 3 LOUD hits is they were MASSIVE multi-format radio hits. Only Girl and S&M were #1 on overall radio for 3 weeks and WMN for SEVEN. But on actual consumption, they weren't that strong. They were big, but not as completely ubiquitous as Sabrina's. Sabrina's smashes rely far less on radio. Espresso didn't go #1, PPP didn't even go top 5 and Taste will be lucky to go top 10. They are monsters in actual consumption. I think she's bigger than Loud. The only thing she's missing for the TD simile is a Firework. 7 1
SinnerCity Posted October 1 Posted October 1 We love this for her ❤️❤️❤️❤️ the singles are fantastic! Bed Chem next please

It's also hard to gauge because Sabrina's album is performing much better than those albums which had the criticism of being singles only albums. But that may just be because of streaming now vs the digital market back then. Pretty hard to compare that aspect. 4 1

What will the haters say now that Jack professed Sabrina wrote a majority of that song and that it didn't churn out via a "writing camp." Just because she doesn't boast every 2.5 seconds about being a songwriter doesn't mean she ain't one. I admire her for that actually. Edited October 1 by xluvxduffxmusicx 3

superben Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Bed Chem is gonna hit top 10 next. An album with FOUR multi-week top 10 hits is actually quite massive in the streaming era. 2

Probably the same things Bey haters say even after her collaborators profess how involved she is in her own music 🤷♂️ it comes with the territory
Acuminatus Posted October 22 Posted October 22 In a different era she would have probably spaced out the singles more ala Teenage Dream. In the modern era this is probably the equivalent. Who would have thought Sabrina would smash this hard after years of grinding? Happy for her! 2

I don't think you can really get many long eras anymore. Future Nostalgia is the most recent one and honestly it sort of was fueled due to COVID and lockdown
newaespa Posted October 22 Posted October 22 Insane, she is doing so well! and she doesn't even need to rely on famous people like Bruno Mars, BLACKPINK, Ariana Grande, Bradley Cooper etc to chart 1
