Assassin
Quote Chris Brown has been praised for his innovation and immense talent since he burst onto the music scene. But in 2009, the world was exposed to a much darker side of the pop star when he made headlines for assaulting then-girlfriend, Rihanna. This arrest put a spotlight on Brown and his adult life involving multiple violent incidents, including intimate partner violence, assault charges, and even sexual assault allegations. CHRIS BROWN: A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE charts Chris Brown's past all the way back to his troubled childhood, explores the lasting impact of the cycle of abuse, and poses the question: how does a man with such a violent public record maintain his superstar status? With expert and cultural commentary layered throughout, the documentary provides thoughtful reflections into each survivor's experience and the psychological destruction in the aftermath of their abuse. CHRIS BROWN: A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE, premieres on Sunday, October 27 at 9 pm ET/PT on ID.
ChooseyLover
Hopefully fellow artists will think twice before associating themselves to this man after the doc airs. I've acknowledged his talent and enjoyed his music in the past but the way he's abused so, so many women is inexcusable and I can't even do that anymore. He's nasty.

A question I asked myself many times. He still has a lot of supporters, who he shouldn't have imo. He simply got away with too much. Glad people are finally giving this more attention.
i spit on haters
Good. Never net the general public forget what an abusive, piece of **** he is. And his violence hasn't stopped because he's currently in a gang and has been for several years now. Nothing but egregious behavior and illegal activity comes from that lifestyle. Mr.X
The way some very famous people have shown support and DEFENDED this abuser, is disgusting. Shame on the celebrities and public figures that have supported and collaborated with him. Like, properly collaborated as well, not just endorsed or said something nice. **** them to high heavens. I don't really understand how that happens. The same shite happened with R Kelly even after his abuse was publicly verified!!! Like, people like to soil themselves publicly, that is known, but to actively go out of your way to support them in the face of so much evidence of abuse? You're just showing how much of an ass you are!
Rihinvention
Rihanna hates her assault being turned into trauma porn, and has asked people not to share the photos of her beaten face. She said it embarrasses her. So…I don't know how to feel about this. On one hand, expose the f***er for all that he's done, but on the other…maybe only showcase victims who consent to being in the documentary? Otherwise you're potentially retraumatising victims. chaklux
I'm black and I believe the black community is rooted in misogyny. The average urban male audience are super loyal to these problematic big male artists and makes it difficult for them to face repercussion, or some sadly don't care about the artists personal lives and listen to their music regardless. Yes, racism in the entertainment industry is a real and big issue, but fans of artists like Chris Brown , Kanye West easily use the racism card and believe the media is simply trying to cancel our black male celebrities. Up till today, a good number of black people mostly males still believe Tory Lanez was innocent and Meghan is the terrible person. It's sad honestly . Unless the documentary is really good and exposes some teas, some will still find a way to defend him and claim the media is trying to cancel him.
