midnightdawn Posted September 29 Posted September 29 (edited) There appears to be no "Love Story" between Republican voters and Taylor Swift — the megastar has lost a significant amount of support from her right-leaning fans following her endorsement of Vice President Harris, according to a new poll. Roughly 47 percent of Republicans have a negative view of the "All Too Well" singer, an NBC News poll released Friday found. That's more than 20 points more than last November, when 26 percent of Republicans shared the same dim view of Swift in NBC's poll. While 28 percent of Republicans last year responded they had a positive view of Swift, Friday's poll found only 12 percent expressed the same warm feeling toward the 34-year-old Grammy Award winner, NBC reported. https://thehill.com/blogs/in-the-know/4903971-taylor-swift-approval-republicans-harris-endorsement-trump/ "Who's afraid of little old me? Republicans," Jeff Horwitt of Hart Research Associates, the Democratic pollster who conducted this survey with Republican pollster Bill McInturff of Public Opinion Strategies, said of Swift. "Her personal ratings have dropped from +2 to -35 among Republicans." "A good lesson that it's better to be a tortured poet than a tortured figure in the political arena," Horwitt continued. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/bad-blood-republicans-drives-decline-taylor-swifts-poll-numbers-rcna172999 Edited September 29 by midnightdawn
AshleyLovescats887 Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Not surprised tbh. 3 minutes ago, midnightdawn said: "A good lesson that it's better to be a tortured poet than a tortured figure in the political arena," Horwitt continued. I don't know why, but this sentence lowkey pissed me off. Very condescending.. 1
piotrert Posted September 29 Posted September 29 it's not like she needs republicans, but these idiots can't boycott ****. im sure when she will drop rep tv/debut tv/new album they will be listening like nothing happened 9
SpaceOddity Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Pretty sure she'll wipe her tears on a hundred dollar bill tonight. 6 2
shookspeare Posted September 29 Posted September 29 omg TS12 might sell fewer than 2 mil copies at this rate, her 143 1
Onyxmage Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Her main fanbase which is gen z and millennials can care less about a musty dusty 80 year old deranged flop. Whatever psycho wrote this article can choke. 5
Sawk Posted September 29 Posted September 29 These polls probably attract people who already hated her anyways, she's doing great and will continue to be great, the news cycle nowadays is so fast, people will NOT be talking about this for much longer. The Trump shooting which was supposed to be this huge election-deciding moment, was barely talked about after two weeks. Taylor endorsing Kamala, while an amazing thing, isn't as ground breaking as some would like to believe, her track record indicated this is what she would have done. 4
BorderBoy Posted September 29 Posted September 29 I don't understand America's obsessions with pop stars' views on politics when it comes elections. Y'all are choosing the next country's president. This is the elections, not the Grammys. People need to focus more on issues that matter. Taylor Swift isn't gonna pay for your taxes or healthcare insurance. Focus people! 6
Just a Gay on ATRL Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Who cares? She's so damn popular and iconic at this point that she doesn't need Republican money whatsoever. She can lose a bunch of Republican fans and still have such an excess of other fans left afterwards that she will still be the most popular music act in the world by far. Glad she chose her beliefs over money. The Republican fans will make it more feasible for the rest of us who are not making the huge mistake of voting for Trump to get Taylor tour tickets next time. And stay out!!

Big Bad Wolf Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Who cares? Taylor has her white audience on lock. The scraggily white people denouncing her for Trump are a loud minority. 1
Gelato Posted September 29 Posted September 29 well this is still better than the backlash she would have received from more important components of her fanbase if she had stayed silent 1
Polgg48 Posted September 29 Posted September 29 big reputation, big reputation trump and me, we got big reputations 2
YouSmellLikeHospital Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Yeah this old lady at my work came up to me and was all "did you hear what Taylor Swift said about the election" in a melodramatic, scandalous tone, and I was like "yes, GOOD" and that shut her up 1 4
Ryusei Posted September 29 Posted September 29 If they weren't stupid as hell they would have never liked her to begin with at any point past like 2018. 4
AlbumOfTheYear Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Its great that my bestie TayTay already took all their money!
The Music Industry Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Poor her! I guess she might not crack a 2M opening week with her next album. Her downfall is here!
ALA Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Oh no... no more Trumpers attending her tours? Dang, guess more deserving people will get tickets
