Harlequin outstreams 143's first day, why and surprised?

What I said was mostly in Katy's favor. There's no point in comparing two albums from too different genres. But if we did, Gaga's jazz album outstreamed Katy's dance-pop album

And? U told me Katy is Over. So, Gaga is over too?

Yet you are the same ones who say ASIB Soundtrack doesn't count :coffee2:

Well if ASIB counts this certainly should.

Pick a side.

It's not a jazz album? Which genre it is? Enlighten us with your wisdom :lakitu:

According to Gaga  - "vintage pop"

Y'all been claiming Katheryn to be over for 10 years and wonder why Stefani outstreamed her? Make it make sense :toofunny3:

Harlequin is a covers album with show tunes and jazz music. ASIB is an original album with pop songs.

If Gaga did 7 million with a cover album then she will do more with her next studio album, not less.

Love For Sale did almost 4 million in total streams first week, Chromatica did 174 million. Even if Ariana was resonsible for half of those streams, it would still mean Gaga did over 2000 percent more than LFS. Cheek to Cheek sold 131,000 copies in its first week while Joanne did 201,000 copies, which is an over 53 percent increase. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that on average her regular studio projects do way more than her jazz ones. Now you're telling me she's going back to doing dark pop and she won't generate at least a 50 percent increase over the sales and streams of Harlequin? She's above Katy in either case.

It is the usual narrative. Play it down in case it underperforms. When it smashes its a Gaga album

Well of course they'd push something but it's not being pushed to radio nor are they giving it a music video. It's just a song they want to push on streaming to further increase the potential but they would not be pushing it hard when the lead is supposed to come out, that would be stupid.

Well, ASIB was just a soundtrack album but it smashed so of course why wouldn't her fanbase flaunt it? I could reverse it and say that had the album bombed OGH would be saying it's because of Gaga and that she's a flop? But when it smashes suddenly it's NOT because of Gaga?

In either case, Harlequin is mostly just cover songs and jazz music. It's not what her fans want. It's like giving a Skittles to someone who's hungry for a steak. If you do not know how marketing works just own up to it. Lady Gaga's fanbase was made on pop music, dance pop at that. They are not going to support her jazz music in droves, especially not when it's covers.

Shallow and Always Remember Us This Way are pop which is why they could be served to pop radio. None of the jazz songs can be. Then we have I'll Never Love Again which is a Whitney-esque pop ballad and Heal Me. The horrendous Why Did You Do That is supposed to be what? death metal?

It was a pop album in its core, while Harlequin is not.

Happy mistake currently has a reach north of 75 million, which is 25 million more than Womans world peaked with.

When are Little Monsters going to stop picking on Katy so that they can make their fav look better? Katy has been over for over a decade now yet Little Monsters act like it's still 2011 and her and Gaga are neck and neck. Why you ask? Because they know that if they let the Katy comparison go they would have to compare Gaga to the actual heavy-hitter pop girls and suddenly all their "wins" against Katy turn into PATHETIC loses…

Kitty Kats will continue to get brave and Liddos will continue to put them in their place as usual. Nothing new nothing changed :coffee2:

Happy mistake could easily go to pop.

Yes and they invested more because of Gaga's status being bigger than Katy's. If it was just money I'm sure Katy's label would've paid. Spotify was willing to give Gaga a broader playlisting because she's a bigger name. But it's not getting pushed anywhere else.

It could. But why send that song when they have the lead to her studio album coming out in just weeks?

If she is as big as you claim she could have dual songs.

But it still did waaaay better than Harlequin. And it wasn't DarkGa which is what Liddos are craving nor did it do itself any favors with its lead. It was still fairly supported by her fanbase though.

She will already with DWAS but three songs at the same time pushed to radio? That won't work.
