Popular Post Hector Posted September 28 Popular Post Posted September 28 Kylie Minogue held back tears on The One Show as she recalled the emotional reason behind her duet with pop icon Madonna. The Australian pop star sat on the BBC One show's sofa on Friday (September 27) to promote her worldwide tour, with tickets already being snapped up by fans. The discussion turned to Kylie's recent performance with Madonna, as they performed a cover of Gloria Gaynor's hit I Will Survive in June in Los Angeles. But Kylie mentioned there was a more emotional reason behind the cover - namely Madonna wanting to mark how the Aussie beat breast cancer. Host Alex Jones asked the pop icon: "Now, earlier this year, you duetted with Madonna. What was that like - because for us, it's like, oh my gosh, the Queen and the princess together" Kylie replied: "For a 14-year-old me just the jaw - I mean, can't get to take it off the floor. It came about really organically. "The request came through her manager. I've known him for many years, and I just presumed when I was asked to join her on stage, it would be her Vogue section, where she has a different guest every night that holds up the card. It's like 10 out of 10. It was to do a cover of 'I Will Survive'. Holding back the tears, Kylie continued: "And her reasoning for that was twofold - one which she sadly lost her mother to breast cancer, and she knew about some of my story, and also just being two women who survived in the industry, and so it was just really amazing moment, and also some people going 'Oh, is this really happening?' "I have some friends who will not forgive me (and said) - 'Why didn't you tell me?' I just kept it as a surprise" She joked: "I may have lost some friends but I did get to sing with Madonna!" ChooseyLover Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Every single Pop lover died that day. I sure did. 6
Popular Post RT Air Posted September 28 Popular Post Posted September 28 That day was gay history, my timeline was in shambles for 48 hours afterwards The power and resilience of these two legends (both in the music industry and their personal lives) is nothing short of admirable, and should serve as inspiration for many generations of pop stars to come. The respect they have for each other is also amazing to behold, and highlights how ridiculous the petty quarrels between their fanbases are 10 5

mons†er Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Such a beautiful moment. I lost my godmother, the woman who saved my life over 17 years ago to breast cancer and it never gets easier. I'm glad they were able to make this more than just a moment for pop music. It's empowering and endearing. 5
