Just watched it. I knew it was going to be bad but I had no idea it was going to be that bad. Netflix should be ashamed :rip:

No way I would watch something with that name

Possibly, but let's revisit this thread on October 4th.

Isn't it based on the books

I couldn't finish it. I knew when she said in the beginning "mirror make me pretty", and it put that tik Tok filter on her, that it was going to be bad. I don't even know why I watched halfway through

The begining was somewhat good but then it was just... terrible that i even forgot to finish it.

The idea is hilarious though, it should've been a comedy. Ugly people live to work and are literally "beneath" pretty people that are up on a literal higher ground/buildings :rip:

They really thought they did "something".

If you read the three books (Uglies, Pretties, Specials) you'll see it's actually an action packed and harrowing Sci-fi epic with deeper character building.

The author has been trying to get a film made for over a decade or so, it was attached to MGM for a major, multi-million dollar film franchise but it kept falling through.

Sad it sounds like they had to go the cheap route and weren't true to the subject matter.

It also sounds like they missed the message of the first book.

Only to people who barely watch any movies. It wasn't good but there were far worse movies. "Beautiful Wedding", just to name one.

I want to know more about the pretties world tho

the entire portion of the movie in "the smoke" was kinda boring :pig:

It's Netflix. What did you expect?

I actually enjoyed the book when I was in high-school so either the film truly BOTCHED its source material or the book is actually worse than I remember it being :deadbanana2: I need to watch this ASAP, by what people have been saying it's up to be a hilarious ****-watch lmao
