Clock her! I was about to hit post and now the whole old thread is gone! In summary, Halsey was like this when she wrote it and her career dissolution fascinates me.

a reserve katy perry - only doing music to get #1s, chasing hits, releasing the same turd over and over again and bragging about sales - experience

it wasnt even shade, I just said Katy dealt with the same issue (with witness and smile) and she didnt get the same compassion and understanding. I love Halsey and agree with her post

why did you quote me in the other thread and then delete it? I can't even see your reply now.

Not the thread remake :deadbanana4:

Ego should've been the lead single. It was a mistake wasting so much time and resources pushing Lucky when it was never gonna smash in the first place. Columbia seems to be mishandling this era.

She made several points, every artist eventually loses the commercial success they had at their peak, everyone from QoP Madonna to KoP MJ. People forget T Swift is the exception not the norm.

I think she's navigating this in a very respectable way because she's still standing behind the work no matter the commercial aspect of it. Not every artist does that.

She's dealing with this with such dignity, class, and grace. I will be streaming.

That's really well written actually.

Spilled :clap3: People need to stop bullying her when she's physically sick

She didn't lie. Honestly, this girl is a fighter. People have been dogging on her and waiting to see her fail for over a decade now (!!!) and she's still releasing music and the stuff from her newest album is some of her best.

Not even close to a stan but it must be said.

Why did my dyslexic a** read "Harry Styles" and after the first few sentences I preceded to Google his discography and noted that he has no diamond singles, and doesn't even have 28 singles - then I started wondering whether he meant including his time in One Direction, after which I also googled their discography. I came to the conclusion that he was just inflating his numbers and returned to the post.

Now imagine my confusion when I continue reading and reach the part about with titles of Halsey's albums:dies: For a second I tried to think of logical reasons for why he would be referencing Halsey before scrolling up and realizing I read the title wrong

There are many points she made and I'm really glad she hasn't written off her best work just because it's her least commercially successful. Stand by your artistry. :clap3:

where's the lie?

art not the charts baby

Halsey always delivers as she is an ALBUM ARTIST - she has a vision and her work never disappoints.

Her mistake was shilling out money on that movie tie in last time :bibliahh: Where did this narrative she had to be a commercial juggernaut even come from? Her hits are faceless songs anyone in the late 2010's could've recorded. Her vocal flare makes them singular but we have to be honest. She is much better sonically when she's not angling for zeitgeist.

Eloquently and honestly said. :clap3:So glad they are content with just releasing music and having people enjoy it and not chasing chart statistics. I really believe this will be her best album to date. I need to hear 'Panic Attack' ASAP.
