Unfortunately, he still has a fanbase, I remember during the trial there were a group of them protesting and saying he was innocent. Also I believe one of the girls from the cult he ran is still with him sadly. He's been trying and failing to get his case reviewed again, but the recent claim he sent in could potentially release him, as they found a loophole.
