SlowGinFizzzz Posted September 21 Posted September 21 Huhh what's going on with Atlantic, have they been unstable for longer or is this something more sudden?
reymiu Posted September 22 Posted September 22 Looks like Ava doesn't have money to buy samples anymore, so I will give some streams to her new single "Spot a Fake" 1 3 1

Rihinvention Posted September 22 Posted September 22 I don't know if you guys know this, but the sooner we stop talking about her, the sooner she'll go away. 4
ChooseyLover Posted September 22 Posted September 22 The clickbait with a misleading title and tired ass sample joke Someone close this thread.
Genius1111 Posted September 22 Posted September 22 Please change the thread title to "Ava Max contemplates selling lemonade"
smartalek22 Posted September 22 Posted September 22 lol reading comprehension Atlantic Records is BROKE and fired tons of staff and dropped tons of flop artists. https://musically.com/2024/09/20/layoffs-begin-as-wmg-announces-atlantic-records-reorganisation/ With all this mess it's gonna be hard for artists on that label to get any proper focus or promo

Attitude Posted September 22 Posted September 22 Wasn't the new CEO going around giving artists birkin bags?
Gladiator Posted September 22 Posted September 22 Some here should take some time to discover WhoSampled.com The narrative that all Ava does is sample is tired and ironic, especially when you compare the volume of samples she has compared to others.

Parallel Posted September 25 Posted September 25 On 9/21/2024 at 2:40 PM, wastedpotential said: But yeah if Atlantic is really going down... it must be seriously ****** behind the scenes The industry is in rough shape now. All of the UMG labels essentially got consolidated last year under Republic and Interscope, Capitol was hit with the double funding catastrophes of IICHLIWP and 143, and RCA continue to ruin every single artist they touch It's the way that during Taylor's messy exit from Big Machine a lot of fans wanted her to go to Atlantic/Warner because they had such good payola and play listing, and we were kinda mad she went with Republic since they'd botched the Reputation era radio rollout so badly (and were then proven right by Lover...*sigh*) and now it's looking like one of maybe... three? four? profitable labels right now (assuming Columbia, Interscope, and I guess Island are in good shape). The music industry is in dire shape RCA isn't doing so bad. They barely fund their artists but they're still doing fine(SZA, Doja, Tate), so they're definitely not in the red. Although the lack of funding approach does leave some artists to die(Normani, etc)
