I think it's important to keep in mind that people like Janet and other former child stars grew up not getting much of an education and were not exactly armed with the ability to think critically and form an educated world view. It's why many of them end up falling victims to religious cults, etc. 

 

Now this is NOT to excuse her because this is absolute nonsense and people her age should know better.  This DOES make me want to re-examine my thoughts on some of her questionable career choices.
