I don't know what you're trying to say, and sorry if I've misunderstood but just weighing in.

I didn't start this thread but I'm a massive Janet fan (and Madonna fan too, no idea they are in any sort of competition anymore…) and I'm disappointed by this, not everything is about Stan wars especially ones from the 1800s. Janet's comments are heinous and if you are a fan of her music, particularly pre 2001 you would surely recognize this is so out of character for a woman who was once a progressive firebrand who sung about racial and gender inequality, domestic violence and sexual liberation.

She literally screams "Illiteracy, Ignorance, Bigotry, Predjudice, No!" on one of her most impactful albums and now she's peddling the stupidest conspiracy theory ever, even if she thought it was true - so what? The color black isn't monopolized by African Americans and blackness exists around the globe on a large spectrum, let alone taking into account colorism. It's shameful and ignorant and she needs to go and listen to her own music to remember who tf she is because this is not it. I still stan her obviously and I'm not cancelling her or anything over it but I am really side eyeing these comments of hers. She's clearly surrounded by bad people.

Prejudice: no
Ignorance: no
Bigotry: no
Illiteracy: no

How did she become so out of touch? Truly saddening.

What she said originally was bad enough, but this is just getting worse and worse.

Madonna or Madonna fans have nothing to do with this. You do seem to obsessively have an issue with Madonna though.

And not sure you are keeping up, but things aren't looking good for Janet with this fiasco, so keep it up.

Robin L. Baylor from the Philadelphia Tribune, this is the moment you've been waiting for. Time to publish that Janet Jackson hit piece you've been sitting on.

One, misogyny.

Two, Barack had a black wife + kids so it kinda gave him a "black pass" so to speak. He also looks "blacker" and was better at code-switching.

Kamala looks "racially ambiguous" when her hair is straightened, has a non-black (jewish) husband and kids- so maybe some black people can't relate to her?

It's a very small but vocal minority.

I figured as much but I still think it boils down to misogyny. America, not even some democrats, want a woman in charge. Every time a woman runs or gets this far in a presidential election, it's always some fuckshit thrown their way that impedes them. It don't matter what party they run under either.

Men have ****** the world up for thousands of years but most countries don't want a woman trying to clean it up. Make it make sense.

Janet has released an apology (if you can call it that) through buzzfeed (why buzzfeed and not an actual statement via her social media?) via her manager acknowledging the comments were based on misinformation. The rest is...whatever I guess.

that's lame, and I don't understand why she never looked it up herself before making the first statement, only takes a few seconds to see what her parents look like :celestial6:

Fire Randy NOWWWW

This. It was a mistake to hire him. The team is not completely competent.

She has not spoken publicly since her brother's death. And i'm not sure she will address this today. But the team should have put out a statement.

The silence is not working in her favor. I don't think anyone on that team knows what they're doing.

I mean, there was this whole thing where she had to sell off her apartment and her belongings because of a shady deal and presumably Randy was responsible for that since he's her manager and she didn't fire him then. I'm sure she loves him but the man is clueless in business affairs, he has her touring constantly and can't get it together to release an album to generate some hype. Get some professionals to manage you, Jan.
