Blue. Posted September 20 Posted September 20 Not sure on the billing, but originally Tini's. Shelved in favor of the UMDP era. 1

lillavend3r Posted September 20 Posted September 20 Wasn't always the plan to release the party album towards the end of the year? God knows UMDP tanked she needs the party songs 1

Some other songs from the sessions are being reworked but attention shifted now that she won't have to campaign for the Latin Grammys. 37 minutes ago, lillavend3r said: Wasn't always the plan to release the party album towards the end of the year? Good sis really thought the Latin Grammys would consider her with an album that wasnt a smash. They only nominate commercial success or the latest bomb by a well regarded legend. There are more chances this next record gets nom'd than UMDP had. 1

They are now returning to that project, which was not sure at one point because it depended on Tini. Sony was not pushing her for hits. 1
alestevens Posted September 25 Posted September 25 That being said, UMDP bombing likely didnt cost the label any money. The album had 0 promo, no physical edition, and out of the 3 videos only one looked like it had a budget + she did 5 sold out shows which she then sold the rights of to a streaming platform. It very likely made no losses whatsoever 1

It very likely made no losses whatsoever I think the label itself maybe didn't have big expectations on UMDP, for it to perform like Tini's previous albums and the huge success its predecessor Cupido was. The sold out shows, merchandise sold, and the streaming rights sold to Flow must've minted her and the label some good profits indeed.
laqqinq Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Wasn't this supposed to be the first/lead single for the "commercial"/"party" album that was first intended to be T6? The Rolling Stone interview said that the "album" was "almost ready" last year and then Tini (and the label) shelved it so they could make UMDP, as she wanted it to be more in real time, in line with her (then-)recent emotions and mental health struggles. She started working on UMDP a little before the Spain shows of the tour and it was completed in 6 months. RS said it was the quickest album of her career (3 months recording; 3 months conceptualizing/pre-planning/drawing board).
