I disagree with her but I'm not offended or surprised. I don't think she's trying to be dismissive and she's def not being malicious. The truth is that she is a 78 year old white woman who has been doing country music for longer than most of us were alive, of course she's not going to blow up their spot. It's her industry and I think she can simultaneously hold this opinion and respect Beyonce/CC at the same time.

 

Some of the comments in here about cosplaying or acting like they don't see the bigger issue of black artists not being accepted in country are nasty though but why would I be surprised? It's atrl, home of people casually being anti-black and racist. I used to think it was just because of the petty stan wars but I realize now that some of you just actually believe these things in real life. It's so disheartening especially on a forum that seems to have a majority queer audience. 

 

Also, the comments about the album flopping are so funny because they come from the same people who say that awards (i.e when Beck won AOTY) aren't about commercial success. El oh el.

She will continue to be humble! and focus on putting out acclaimed music no genre will box her in

Didn't Beyonce Jump on the Latin bang wagon, release a horrible Spanglish album & was ass kissing the Spanish media, even as far as saying she's "jealous she wasn't born a latina"... Wonder if her authentic ass still feels the same whilst jumping from Genre to genre.

 

Everything Beyonce does is for commercial gain, she's hopped on to every trend and movement going, she's not authentic in anything, she's just a great singer/performer with a machine and one heck of a PR team behind her.

Hmm she's kinda right, because this was just a specialty album for Beyoncé, and she's not a "country artist" by any means. But then again, it's a country album, so it needed to be at least acknowledged as one, which that community is having a hard time doing.
