VOSS Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Quote Pagers carried by hundreds of Hezbollah operatives exploded over a short period Tuesday, leaving many of them injured in an unprecedented event that struck across Lebanon. The affected pagers were from a new shipment that the group received in recent days, people familiar with the matter said. A Hezbollah official said hundreds of fighters had such devices, speculating that malware may have caused the devices to heat up and explode. The official said some people felt the pagers heat up and disposed of them before they burst. It couldn't immediately be determined what caused the blasts, which were spread out across the country in several areas where Hezbollah has a heavy presence. The Israeli military declined to comment. The number of casualties was rising too quickly to count but appeared to top 1,000, a Hezbollah official said. The group seemed overwhelmed trying to keep up, and hospitals across the country struggled to treat the injured. Downtown Beirut was filled with the sirens of ambulances wailing by. Lebanese Health Minister Firas Abiad said he needed more time to determine the total number of casualties but assessed that the number of emergency room admissions in southern Lebanon, a Hezbollah stronghold, was extremely high. Communion Posted September 17 Posted September 17 This will be considered a terrorist attack by whoever is behind it due to dozens of bystanders being harmed. 4 1

It should 100% be considered a terrorist attack given the proximity to civilians. But of course someone will come in here to try and justify it as if having pagers blow up in public is okay. 11 1
Popular Post Nova_23 Posted September 17 Popular Post Posted September 17 I wonder if Lebanon has the same right to defend itself against its attackers in the same vein that Israel does 🧐 13 2
DuffStan Posted September 17 Posted September 17 1 000??? Oh this is terrible. My parents told me they heard sirens all over the city. People can't take this anymore! ENOUGH!!!! 3
oscarscheller Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Now why would a diplomat (the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon) carry a terror-organization pager 5 2 7
IBeMe Posted September 17 Posted September 17 This is next level and horribly cruel because apparently even civilians had purchased these pagers in that shipment. The injured toll has risen to almost 3k ppl apparently…this is wild

stjosephprey4us Posted September 17 Posted September 17 I'm confused how this happened. Do people's pagers automatically have an exploding device in them? And it was hacked? Could this happen with iPhones, or am I stupid?
Gottasadae Posted September 17 Posted September 17 It's so scary, imagine that someone can remotely control your phone and blow it up whenever they want

Luckitty Posted September 17 Posted September 17 the news trying to frame this as an attack on hezbollah when civilians also use pagers.. it's clearly a terrorist attack by israel but since the victims are arabs and not european colonizers no one will care 1 1 1
Luckitty Posted September 17 Posted September 17 this terrorist attack committed by the european colony that calls itself israel has also been reported in Syria not just Lebanon
Communion Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Western liberalism has moved so far to the right that legitimately the general reaction within the West is finding the imagery of citizens terrified of constant explosions all throughout the country as funny, even when it results in at least one dead child. 6

Then again, you do the genocide with the genocide in Gaza. Supporting acts of terrorism because it's done by the "West," that's liberals for ya. 4

He wasn't permabanned when he was a racist troll thinking comparing Black Americans to monkeys was funny years ago, or when he claimed "armed Palestinians" were the ones who killed Shireen Abu Akleh, or when he constantly defended/supported the ongoing genocide. Certainly won't happen now. 6
