SoldierofLove Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Voters have dealt Prime Minister Justin Trudeau another devastating byelection loss, this time picking a Bloc Québécois candidate in a Montreal riding that's been held by the Liberals for most of the last century. The defeat in LaSalle-Émard-Verdun is Trudeau's second byelection loss in a safe Liberal seat in the last three months and it raises questions about his long-term viability as party leader. In the end, the Bloc's Sauvé took 28 per cent compared to 27.2 per cent for Palestini and 26.1 per cent for the New Democrat. Fewer than 250 votes separated the Bloc and Liberal candidates. https://www.cbc.ca/amp/1.7321730

Rihinvention Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Isn't the cost-of-living insane in Canada right now? Like I know it's bad everywhere, but I've heard that in Canada, it's insane. It won't surprise me if they flip right. When people's pockets are hurting, they get pissed off and swing voters will opt for change, regardless of whether it's better or worse.

At least here in Vancouver, it's forcing a lot of people into poverty even those who have "good jobs".

Trudeau is OVER, the election next year is going to be an absolute bloodbath. All of my young, far left friends are not voting for him, mainly because of inflation. Everybody hates him.
