which LIKE ??????

It's always the most wildly creative and interesting folks that have to deal with that and it sucks. Chappell inspires basically everybody right now and she has completely shaked the table in this industry, we all know that. Like BABES. You're iller than all these girls. Wish she could own that, but she is super young & I value her humility.

Also, I love that music is not about awards and large scale prestige or recognition, for her. Too rare for artists to put the art and the soul first like Chappell does.

But she's not super young though, she's 26 and have been working in this industry since 2014, a decade.

Sis, she's a walking contradiction, constantly rattling off her disdain for fame, yet cancelled little show for a VMA performance.    She doesn't want GRAMMYs, but obviously submitted.  She doesn't want attention yet constantly puts out these interviews.

We all know these people IRL

This. These hypocrites always seem to think they're above people who work hard for what they do

I know both of those things but thanks girl, and 26 is objectively super young so... are you 16?

What's with this person being so against stans and the media? Why did she even agree to become famous?

Is her music even good? I never heard any of her songs. Should I?

Yeah but not in the context of what you were saying. Super young would be all teen stars Miley, Hilary, Lindsay, Demi, Selena etc. Justin Bieber, Britney. They all had their breaks while being teenagers. Chappell got her break now, with 10 years of experience.

I have been rooting for her for BNA and I still think she deserves that based on the quality of her music and her recent trajectory, but if she doesn't want it I'd rather it go to someone that does.

Benson Boone could sneak his way to a win tbh

No it is applicable to what I said originally too. When 2Pac died at 25 was he not a super young man and artist? Think more critically.

And that's her right to feel that way.

The way this woman is upsetting y'all just with her opinions and boundaries is so funny. It's like if an artist doesn't bend to the whim of what you want and expect from them, they're garbage. That's not how life works, and I'm glad Chappell has these people seething over quite literally nothing :flower:

The thing is that when u sign a record contract you already should have an idea of what could happen from seeing past stars hit high fame and how it has affected them.

And she has been using her platform (despite not being as huge as some other A listers) to speak up about her struggles with bipolar/mental illness, LGBTQ+ right and especially trans people issues, the genocide in Palestine, etc. So what now?

But it's clear that yall refuse to READ what she's saying and already made up your mind that she's "immensely rich and successful and spoiled and constantly whining!!!".

Girl please. If you actually look at my posts in the threads about her setting her boundaries on being stalked and her family harassed, I was supporting her because that is NOT supposed to be part of the job. But all this cringe whining about not wanting a Grammy and not wanting another hit single when she is doing everything in her power to become more popular and successful is hypocritical and ridiculous. If she really wants to disappear, she very well can. But she doesn't.

I hate when artist talk about this has been my dream since I was a kid and blah blah and then suddenly are tired of fame. Like girl this is your dream!!!

imagine making this comparison...and talking about domestic abuse as something that has a 'vibe' lol

Idk why I thought this girl was smart...she is dumb as ****

I think it's so odd that people are so up in arms about her being brutally honest about HER experience with fame. She is young and it's a lot to navigate. Just take a moment to reflect on your faves who have been in the industry for a while and have gone through low points in the public eye; Britney Spears, Justin Bieber just to name a few.

Omg y'all must be 20 years old. You are insane if you think 26 is old. The average life expectancy in LA where Chappell resides was 80 in 2006, it has to be somewhere in the 80s inching towards 90 now. And she has the money to protect her health probably forever. 26 is definitely and objectively young. We have people like Bey making dope music and putting on dope concerts well into their 40s. Y'all are actually infuriating to call Chappell old when she is just getting started.

Also that whole idea that people discard pop stars after like 30 years old is kind of outdated, sweetheart. Have you been paying attention? Taylor Swift is going to be 35 this year and she is far from over with her time up top. Ageism is not what it used to be anymore. You are being dense.

Chappell Roan opened up about the "abusive" side of fame and warned if it gets too "dangerous," she may quit the music industry. (Getty Images)

"That's what it feels like. I didn't know it would feel this bad."

The "Good Luck, Babe!" singer continued to share that if she ever felt like her life was in jeopardy, she would leave the music industry for good.

"I told myself, if this ever gets dangerous, I might quit," Roan added. "It's dangerous now, and I'm still going. But that part is not what I signed up for."
