It's heavily, heavily implied that Tom Cruise and John Travolta are both gay (not together, just separately) and that they confessed this to the Scientology leaders to achieve a higher level of enlightenment. Subsequently, the "church" has been blackmailing them for decades.

 

They don't say it outright, but it's very easy to connect the dots.

 

This isn't in the documentary, but it's also widely believed that Suri Cruise was conceived via artificial insemination, and that her father is actually Tommy Davis (the former chief spokesperson for Scientology).

 

 

He looks so much like Suri, but also shares features with Tom Cruise, so people could still think that Suri was genuinely Tom's daughter.

 

It would explain how Katie was able to escape with a huge payout, immediate divorce, and no contact with his daughter for 12 years. Inseminating your wife with another man's sperm (unbeknownst to her) is a form of stealthing, which is a criminal offence.
 

A lot of people think Tom might have been sterile. It would explain his adoptions with Nicole. Apparently she had a few miscarriages, but for all we know, that could've been a PR spin to protect his ego.

 

I know this all sounds very "conspiracy theorist", but to be fair, there's some f***ing weird sh*t going on in Scientology.
