Saddy Posted October 20 Author Posted October 20 #4 Vision of Love Score: 8.49 High score: 11 @Ace Reject@Nightingale Low score: 4 @creativity. Comments: GreatestLoveofAll: one of greatest debuts of all opened by one of greatest debut singles of all time. only mariah. Curaga: "LIIIIIIIIIKE... !!!!! Her vocal delivery on this track is perfection. I was sooooo close to giving this my 11, but the instrumental is sadly not it. That note at 2:43 omfggggg " 1
Achilles. Posted October 20 Posted October 20 Omg. My top 2 songs in the rate have made it to the top 3. I have a 67% chance of a satisfactory outcome. 1
KillingYourCareer Posted October 20 Posted October 20 Oh I'm glad Vision of Love isn't top 3. I like the song, but it would've been predictable. 3
Saddy Posted October 20 Author Posted October 20 #3 Someday Score: 8.53 High score: 10 @Album Leak@Soda Pop Queen@KillingYourCareer@Mariya Takeuchi@creativity.@sparrowblue@Nightingale@jacklovesyou1@supaspaz@poki Low score: 4 @SoldierofLove Comments: GreatestLoveofAll: "i can see why mariah doesnt care for it but shes her first dance hit so lets give it respect!" Ewan Chaos: "Love her voice on this one"
ChooseyLover Posted October 20 Posted October 20 Should have joined my @SoldierofLove with a 4 but I gave it a 8 because I'm such a cupcake! Anyways now it's between How Will I Know and Borderline. My vote goes to Borderline 2
Achilles. Posted October 20 Posted October 20 I gave Borderline my 11, but How Will I Know is Whitney's best song (it deserves IWDWS's legacy) so I'm perfectly happy with either winning. 1
Saddy Posted October 20 Author Posted October 20 #2 Borderline Score: 8.68 High score: 11 @ChooseyLover@Achilles. Low score: 5 @Saddy@Album Leak Comments: GreatestLoveofAll: "her first top 10! i wonder if she knew the records she would go on to set and break with this streak. one of her best choruses" Curaga: "Super nostalgic instrumental + super catchy the whole way through!" #1 How Will I Know Score: 8.89 High score: 11 @GraceRandolph@GreatestLoveofAll Low score: 6.2 @jacklovesyou1 Comments: GreatestLoveofAll: "ofc im giving Whitney my 11! and for the best song in this rate yup yup i said it" Curaga: "Classic song, but she's kind of yelly/flat in the pre-chorus " Ewan Chaos: "An undeniable classic & the one true shining moment on the album" 1
Album Leak Posted October 20 Posted October 20 (edited) HAH. I WIN. Edited October 20 by Album Leak 1
KillingYourCareer Posted October 20 Posted October 20 Oh what a perfect winner How Will I Know is a SPLENDID song about the feeling of falling in love. When I was 18 I went on my first date with the guy who would become my first boyfriend (who was a huge Mariah stan despite being 17 at the time, the taste jumped out) and this song played on the way back, expressing my exact feelings. 2
Saddy Posted October 20 Author Posted October 20 That's all. Thanks everyone for participating. Let me know if u want sophomore album rate. I don't think Ace and Supaspaz will mind 6 1
Album Leak Posted October 20 Posted October 20 HWIK definitely deserved the win. Honestly, I did not know Borderline was so beloved. I think Holiday is much better than Borderline personally. I Should Be So Legendary deserved SO MUCH better, but I'm happy with Someday making it so far! Thank you @Saddy for the rate, I personally loved the quick pace of it! Totally down for the sophomore album rate if that ever comes to fruition! 3
ChooseyLover Posted October 20 Posted October 20 Kinda mad but kinda not mad too... A powerful Top 2 in what I consider the messiest Rate I've been a part of. The experience has been just as fun as it's been confusing Congratulations to Queen Whitney. She didn't have the best album but she had a string of megasuccessful hits and rates like this really benefit those. Hoping the next rate takes place soon and ideally we'll be able to rate as much albums as possible from these icons. Great job as always and it's a pleasure to join @Saddy 2

Whew! An early Mariah ballad that genuinely slays. You can feel her heart on this one. 1
KillingYourCareer Posted October 20 Posted October 20 Thank you very much dear @Saddy for hosting this rate, and may we get a 90s version of it soon... or one with the second albums of these legends as well! 1

Curaga: "I thought a ballad was a bad choice for an album opener, but this actually does set the tone for the rest of album, so..." Whitney got sexy here! They didn’t let her do it often, but damn, it’s tremendous. 1
