SoldierofLove Posted September 13 Posted September 13 (edited) Pope Francis on Friday slammed both U.S. presidential candidates on Friday for what he called anti-life policies on abortion and migration, and advised American Catholics to choose who they think is the "lesser evil" in the upcoming U.S. elections. "Both are against life, be it the one who kicks out migrants or the one who (supports) killing babies," Francis said. "Both are against life."" Francis said migration is a right described in Scripture, and that anyone who doesn't follow the Biblical call to welcome the stranger is committing a "grave sin." He was also blunt in speaking about abortion. "To have an abortion is to kill a human being. You may like the word or not, but it's killing," he said. "We have to see this clearly." Asked though what to do at the polls, Francis recalled the civic duty to vote. "One should vote, and choose the lesser evil," he said. "Who is the lesser evil, the woman or man? I don't know." https://www.ctvnews.ca/mobile/world/pope-slams-harris-and-trump-on-abortion-and-migration-calls-on-catholics-to-vote-for-lesser-evil-1.7037114 Edited September 13 by SoldierofLove 1

welham Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Well, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt about abortion and interpret it as him meaning the Republican "post-birth abortion." In the case of Kamala's commitment to continue sending the bombs that tear Palestinian children apart, he ain't exactly wrong 1

NoOneDiesFromLove Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Munched a little bit with the migration part but why does he still think he's relevant enough to weigh in on other nations affairs

Renzo_ Posted September 13 Posted September 13 The "representative of evil on Earth" supports dictatorships like Maduro's, so his opinion is invalid.
Tovitov Posted September 13 Posted September 13 It feels like he was trying to give pro-life Catholics a way out to vote for Harris. That said, I don't think they're that many who both listen to the pope and were on the fence in the first place
