bjorn Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Im quite shocked how badly this movie tanked. Opened with only $8.6 million in the US just a few weeks ago and has been pulled from cinema already finishing at $15 million. It had ha budget of $120 million. In fact it bombed harder than CATS. Has to be the biggest bomb in history of mainstream movies? Was it Cate Blanchetts fault? Who to blame? Discuss
Blue Monday Posted September 13 Posted September 13 I think I remember reading that when Cate signed on it was supposed to be an entirely different project with a different script and director.

What a shame. You know she regrets this project. What a stain in her iconic filmography.. 1

YoungDreamer Posted September 13 Posted September 13 I can't imagine how to translate Borderlands to movies honestly 1
Saint James Posted September 13 Posted September 13 it looks really bad and didn't appeal to the target demographic. young gamers don't care about having Cate and JLC in the film
Reginald Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Even after spending dozens of hours playing Borderlands games in the past, I have no clue what the plot is. The gameplay is great, but --

Claymore Posted September 13 Posted September 13 She's almost 60 and she's playing a character who is supposed to be in her 20s. Atrocious casting. 1
Luminary Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Although a phenomenal actress, Cate has never been a box office pull. In all of her box office hits, she's either just a co-star or with a big ensemble cast so you can't really expect her to reign in big audiences on her own, certainly not when the movie is that bad.. 1
Hexchromatica Posted September 14 Posted September 14 What is this habit on here of prefixing the title with the woman when it flops
Smarticle Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Just goes to show that not every actors project needs to be acclaimed
