That's interesting :O Looks like she's not really back on Polydor...though Casablanca lists her on their site.

Thanks!

Yeah I don't like it, I was affraid it was gonna sound like all those Ed Harcourt attempts at disco, and it's exactly that.

How does it sound like Ed's work? :rip: It sounds like something out of Trip the Light Fantastic

Um no, it absolutely doesn't.

This sounds exactly like when she attempted 'disco' with Ed. It's forced. The tone of her voice, the melody, the cheap production... It's no different from her version of Love Is You for example.

Trip had nothing to do with disco, it was perfect cold sharp electropop. She's desperately trying to make a disco song without ever actually being into that sound and it's so annoying. She should make proper electropop song, not chase something she never made but because she covered one 70s disco song suddenly everyone sees her as disco queen and she thinks she has to deliver disco.

It literally sounds like Me and My Imagination's successor, but okay.

Um yes and no, yes in a way that it's very mellow but MAMI was far more modern in 2007 than this one is in 2024, and MAMI was not representative of TTLF.

Sounds great! I'm not worried about this!
