One of my earliest memories was coming home from school and seeing it on the TV.

Anyone watching the live memorial?

A widow called out Biden for offering some of the terrorists involved in planning the attacks a plea deal, and for saying "tomorrow I have to do 9/11."

It got huge cheers and was so uncomfortable to watch…I feel like Fox News are gonna have a field day with it.

It doesn't seem like an appropriate time/place for political/election statements. It should be about the victims.

Rest in peace to those who died

I sometimes feel really sad for Gen Zs who never got to experience the world before 9/11, before there was this never-ending sense of impending doom. It's lessened a bit over time,  but 9/11 was undoubtedly a turning point.

Maybe a little bit unrelated, but I always found it interesting how 9/11 revolutionized airport security meanwhile for concerts it feels like we have a long way to go even after Manchester or threats like recent Taylor shows.

I mean you can't take large bags into concerts. Not sure how much more security is needed inside the venue itself?

yeah. i haven't been to a concert without "airport style" security in as long as i can remember. it's always full body scanners etc.

sadly there is no way of completely eradicating threats to crowds outside of the venue (Manchester, Vienna)

I feel sad every year for the victims especially when I rewatch the footage. :chick3: I can't imagine the confusion and the terror the people felt in the twin towers. The worst thing I read was there was a message on the intercom telling everyone to head back to their offices when they were already halfway evacuating. Thousands of people could've survived had they not been instructed to go back! You can hear this in some of the footages recorded inside the towers.

Extremely sad event that we can only hope will never be repeated.

I love her but damn, why did she feel the need to cross-promote her song on this particular day? :deadbanana2:

OT: R.I.P. to all the victims. I'm glad that we haven't suffered any major terrorist attacks of this magnitude in the States since 2001.

Still can't believe how catastrophic that event was

Can you imagine being mad at your spouse or your kids the night before or the morning before going into work that day….? I'm sure that day has forever haunted so many people. Life is so fragile and unpredictable. Hug your loved ones and love your neighbors more each day.

My dad and aunt saw one of the towers fall along 6th Avenue, they had to cross the bridge with so many others.

Thank god. Airplanes are always so stressful with so many rules. I really dont need this for concerts too.

Wish I could experience smoking in the airplanes like they romanticize in the 60s

It's weird to see the towers disappear from tv shows that were running at the time, notably SATC

I'll never forget coming home early from 4th grade that day and seeing my mom glued to the TV.
Watching the towers on fire, seeing people jump from the buildings with desesperation
Then, seeing the towers collapse—Everything was so was heartbreaking.
The news in my country were in a frenzy the whole week.

I also remember watching live as people ran when the white cloud of debris from the buildings came down on them.
I was 8 years old, and I'll never forget the fear and sadness that hung in the air that day.
Just a year earlier, my dad had been on a work conference trip to New York-Iowa, and he had told us how incredible the Twin Towers were.
He even brought back a playstation 1 James Bond car video game where you could clearly see the towers.

This event wasn't just about the U.S. It brought the world together and revealed the darkest sides of what some people are capable of.

I live in South America, and this event honestly changed me forever.
Now, in my 30s, I still get very emotional watching those videos.
September has always been my least favorite month, and I've always connected it with darker feelings.
I'm not sure if that's tied to this event, too........but everytime someone is like...........September? Oh the 9/11 month. For me is that.

So yep thats my 9/11 story :emofish:

I remember being in elementary school and the teacher randomly saying a plane crashed into a tower in New York and seeming sad

I didn't understand how grave it was until I was older but that memory will forever stick
