laqqinq Posted September 11 Posted September 11 Quote to play and to find that love within those four walls. Quote will have "plenty of sex" in 'On Swift Horses'. 2
laqqinq Posted September 11 Posted September 11 The comments. Some of y'all really want it to be a full-fledged *****, huh 1
liquiddiamonds Posted September 11 Posted September 11 straight actors needing to prove their acting chops by taking gay characters is never not a cringefest 4

YourFavoriteWeapon Posted September 11 Posted September 11 I always thought he was the most talented one when it comes to Euphoria's younger cast and am glad to see him making great career moves. He deserved an Emmy nomination for that show and an Academy Award nomination for Priscilla. 1 2

Truth Teller Posted September 11 Posted September 11 Can we get a gay movie where no one is ******* on camera? I know I sound republican rn but I'm just tired. Imply it or something 1

Damien M Posted September 11 Posted September 11 At first I wondered why a straight guy (Jacob) keeps playing gay roles and taking up space in queer storylines etc etc But maybe it's a good thing to have popular straight actors in those roles, breaks down the societal taboo around queerness? Allows a wider audience for these releases? Idk. I continue to be torn on this.

People are tired of Gay themed **** being tragedy porn. I really thought that we'd gotten away from that. 1 1
UnanimousBB16 Posted September 11 Posted September 11 "Fellow Travelers" just came out a year ago, with actual gay people doing sex scenes. Seeing graphic gay sex really isn't groundbreaking, and I don't see how you can push the boundaries behind that. I get what he's doing is promo, but explicit gay sex scenes, and straight men being "brave" for playing gay people isn't new. 1 1
Just a Gay on ATRL Posted September 11 Posted September 11 I hate when straight actors describe shooting a gay sex scene as "brave" - it's so much like they're giving themselves a pat on the back for DARING to be with another man on screen which reinforces the stereotype that its taboo in the first place. If you had no weird thoughts or hangups about gay sex you'd think it's just the same as shooting a fake straight sex scene. But when it's gay it's suddenly SO BRAVE. 1 1
mxoonlight Posted September 11 Posted September 11 I am so bored of the straight man plays gay for critical acclaim pipeline, it's become very oversaturated and it's clearly not working if he's doing it more than once. 1 1

Reviews said there were slight undertones between his and Zachary Quinto's character in last year's 'He Went That Way'. And arguably his most famous role, Nate Jacobs in 'Euphoria', his sexuality was never confirmed in a way. But that was a major character arc. 1
