Navyofbadgals Posted September 10 Posted September 10 complete waste of resources, but that's to be expected from these idiots
beautiful player Posted September 10 Posted September 10 It's just temporary. Seems fair to put pressure on other countries to be more vigilant of their own borders 8 4 5
Thin White Duke Posted September 10 Posted September 10 Germany, girl, let's not go over this again, please.
Virgos Groove Posted September 10 Posted September 10 If *gestures broadly at the last year* is what Germany looks like under the SDP, I don't wanna imagine what a(n increasingly likely) AfD government will be like. 1
Zaram Posted September 10 Posted September 10 Isn't it just a short sighted reaction to the two terrorist attacks a week ago? 1
The Next Day Posted September 10 Posted September 10 The conservative opposition who will likely win elections next year want even more than that. The gag is that this is "just" from a government consisting of progressives and neo-liberals. The right wing AfD has all parties in a chokehold, they have so much power over our politics it's frightening. And those ISIS idiots get exactly what they want, more chaos, more fear, more racism. 1
velocity Posted September 10 Posted September 10 so germany has gone full on right wing nazi by abandoning the schengen agreement by checking their borders temporarily as permitted by the schengen agreement? 1
MistressKay Posted September 10 Posted September 10 (edited) Europe is to blame for their own border crises. If first world countries stopped bombing and stealing resources maybe these countries wouldn't be so poor to where their citizens felt they need to run to them. The key to stopping the border crises is to get foreign affairs in order. Not shutting borders. Actually help these countries flourish so their people don't want to come! KillingYourCareer Posted September 10 Posted September 10 There should've been more checks at the borders of Europe to begin with. 5 1

Whether this is permitted by Schengen is debatable I think. It surely exploits the agreement cause Germany is not in a security crisis and there's no reason for heightened security. This will probably go to court but in the meantime our neighbours will be pissed off because our politicians do exactly what the rightwingers want: isolating us from the EU.

Austria has had temporary border patrol for years now despite being in schengen, it's really not that big of a deal as people are making it out to be. There is definitely a security crisis going on in Germany, denying that is ridiculous. 1 2 1
queenoftheclouds Posted September 10 Posted September 10 Germany is slowly turning into the USA. Guns, Knifes, Terror. Terrible. I saw a Guy with a gun Walking down the street where I live. A Woman was killed a few Houses away from mine. That's Not normal Here. I can understand that. We need protection Now. 3
Princess Aurora Posted September 10 Posted September 10 Wait, does it count for EU nationals as well? Usually showing ID is enoughand btw the title is inaccurate
The7thStranger Posted September 10 Posted September 10 (edited) Trying to get a hit thread with that messy ass title? Our bus was controlled coming back from Poland to Germany a few weeks ago, actually. Nobody was detained, but I could see somebody else outside being taken away in handcuffs. Slippery slope, but I think this is making mountains of molehills. Edited September 10 by The7thStranger 1

SlowGinFizzzz Posted September 10 Posted September 10 It's just temporary and there have literally been on-off checks on the border to Austria for years. That thread title is ridiculous. 1
