Navyofbadgals Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Can't even call it a shaky opening, this is an earthquake 14

Navyofbadgals Posted October 5 Posted October 5 D cinemascore lower than Madame web, borderlands, megalopolis, Morbius.. Hell could be lowest for any comic book movie EVER the first one breaking all the good records and this one breaking all the bad records is quite something 12
choerry Posted October 5 Posted October 5 With the terrible cinema score, this is truly becoming a debacle. NOTHING redeeming about it whatsoever.
Jack! Posted October 5 Posted October 5 I mean, discussing the narrative how much or how little Gaga is in the movie isn't really targeting the problem. A quick sweep at the reviews shows that neither her or Joaquin's performances are what's bringing the film down. But I understand ATRL-ism's and looking for easy drags. But in seriousness I think it's just a case of the movie just sucks, bad writing and script and I don't know why Todd Phillips or anyone at Warner Bros. for that matter thought an appropriate follow-up to Joker, considering the audience it targeted in 2019, was a musical. A swing and a miss. Everyone involved will live though. 2 1
Navyofbadgals Posted October 5 Posted October 5 So; only 2nd movie post covid to get a score as low as this lower than cats (2019) too lowest for any DC/Marvel project possibly lowest for a blockbuster ever the Liddos that are polled probably kept this from an F cinemascore but at least then it would join a memorable category now it's just a disaster without any of the benefits a disaster might bring. this isn't going to gross domestically more than the original did in its opening weekend and it could very likely end up below 200M; aka the budget of the movie without marketing 3

Lil' Oz Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Wow. I have to update this thread almost every hour because the numbers keep dropping. We've started with 75M then it was 60M then it was 50M later it was 45M and now it's less than 40M. This is probably the biggest flop in comic book adaptations. 12 1
Bends Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Quote The film made $7 million from Monday–Friday night previews, down from the first's $13.3 milion (-46%). Source
greeneyedsoul Posted October 5 Posted October 5 I've been liking all of @Kukai's recent posts. The Nostradamus of our time should be awarded! 6

Peroxide Posted October 5 Posted October 5 I watched it last night… and I did not enjoy. I will say, Gaga really is fantastic but she's given barely anything to work with. Her character has no agency… She'll be fine (Gaga is still a hugely respected megastar) but yeah… there's no way to spin it. This is a bomb.

She literally didn't even get a single solo bombastic music number. What a waste.
Infinite Posted October 5 Posted October 5 (edited) So they are gonna gross $200mm thats cool they are going to recover the money and WB are going to destroy the musicals script from the future, thank you Gaga 💘 Edited October 5 by Infinite 4

They need to earn at least 500 million for the film to be considered more or less successful.

It have like 3 sets and the people that worked there are the same as the Joker 1 i was being sarcastic because i don't belive that "200million stuff" it's not realistic.
